Dear Roger and Joanne I was shocked to discover Darryl's obituary on the internet while searching for something else. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family at this difficult time. I did not know Darryl well, but I did know him and liked him a great deal, as did Phill. I will be making a donation in his memory to the Sick Kids Fooundation. My deepest condolences for Angie and Family...Memories of Darryl will live on as he touched the hearts of many..As well fixed many wheels to get back on the road. When I worked nights and both times driving home from work and my car did not sound right I would drop by the shop and he always made time to take a quick look. Made his jokes of course. But was always fair.. He would shoot it straight and try to save you money as well... And the last time I saw him he still sat and made jokes and laughed at life. I have many fond memories of Darryl, he was a good friend to my family and close friend and apprentice to my father David Ottman. I will be praying and Remembering Darryl over the next long While. Darryl was an Honest and Knowledgeable Guy, Someone I could come to and get an honest answer to any vehicle problems. Darryl was a Great man! he always took great care of our car, and of us! he came down the street on his tractor to even pick up our tires. I just spoke with him last week and he said he was doing ok!!! What a shock we had!! when we heard of his passing. Our Deepest Sympathies go out to all his family and friends!!! I wish to express my deepest condolence to the entire Harness family upon Darryls passing .I speak of Darryl from the point of a friend , former coworker , neighbour and customer. Although I had known of Darryls illness for sometime he was always at the shop when I called.A day before leaving for my surgery in Ottawa we spoke about some winter maintenance ,and his last words were dont worry about it I will look after you when you get home. I am deeply saddened to learn that was our final conversation . So many things go unsaid. Rest in peace my friend
