It is with heavy hearts the family of Glena Cassells announces her peaceful passing on October 28, 2022. Glena passed at the Golden Plough Lodge surrounded in the love of her family at 89. Glena has now joined her beloved husband, Howard Cassells, who pre-deceased her in 2014. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Tracy (Jason Edwardson) Cassells and Scott Cassells. Loved grandma to Jordan and Alexis as well as her pre-deceased granddaughter Taylor, who she loved immensely. In keeping with Glena’s wishes, cremation has taken place and she will be laid to rest with Howard at the Cobourg Union Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
I had the pleasure of knowing Glenna while I worked at the Golden Plough. She was a wonderful lady who could always make me smile or laugh. She had a great sense of humor and an even greater heart. I will miss her.
Mrs Cassells was a lovely person and so kind to my family. sincere sympathy to Scott and the whole family.

Tracy and Scott. I was sorry to hear of your mothers death. I worked many years with your mom at McDonald’s. I can remember the day she decided to retire. She was a pleasure to work with. Your dad and mom used to give Bob a donation to the Terry fox run. It must have been difficult to watch your fail over the years. Tracey and Scott, I am so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. Glena was my all-time best grill lady. She carried her "farm" work ethic, into the McDonald's kitchen. When Glena was approaching 65 she asked me if I wanted her to retire I said, "hell no Glena, you and I will be the last to leave and we will be shutting the lights out together." A wonderful lady. My condolences.

Tracy and Scott, I’m so sad to read about your Mom’s passing. Howie and Glena were such dear neighbours to me on Carroll Crescent. I’ve spoken often throughout the years of their generosity, plus the huge care packages of baking they would send me home with after our Christmas get togethers at their home. They were wonderful people and I send you my heartfelt sympathy.

Such a lovely woman who was kind and generous to us all for many years. Wishing you all comfort during this difficult time.
So sorry to hear about your mom.It is always hard the loss of someone who is so loved,especially for the children. Cherish the memories and talk about them,share them,keep her alive in your hearts and she can and will live on through all of you. Peace to all of you .
