It’s hard to remember life before knowing Ron, because were all just late teens to early 20’s when we met. Ron came into our lives, and quickly became a family member. Our grown kids still call him Uncle Ron. On Sundays when we went to church, he would take them to Sunday school, then for ice cream after church. Even as life took us in separate directions as life does sometimes, he was still there, showing up randomly as he was “driving by” on one of his cross country tours on his bike. He was a good friend; always ready to lend a hand, always thoughtful. We’re thankful that his struggle is over now, and that he can finally rest. We will miss you Ron, ride and rest in peace. Our deepest sympathy and condolences go out to Lenora, Lily and Jimmy. A special thank you to Lenora for helping us stay in touch with Ron through his illness; current times made it difficult to be able to visit him in hospital, but Lenora was thoughtful and caring, and continued to keep us in the loop about him. Thank you Lenora xx The Atherton family
A Gentle Man, with such empathy and compassion. Always helped anyone or animal in need at any time. One of the best people I’ve ever known. God Bless you Ron. Your much loved. From the folks at Salem Woods also. God Bless. You are in our prayers.
I’ve known Harp for as long as I can remember. I have fond memories of him as a young child. I thought of him like a godfather. He told inappropriate jokes, taught me the love of firearms and was just a constant support to me throughout my whole life. I am so so sad that he’s not with us anymore. That the ‘constant’ in a lot of lives is gone. The world lost a good one. I love you Harp. Praying there’s a firing range and hot little sugar angel waiting up there for you. You’ll be so missed here, but knowing that you’re no longer struggling is a blessing. Xo
I am so sorry for your loss and remember Ron well when we were in our teens. My deepest condolences to you all.
So sorry to hear of the passing of Ron. My thoughts are with all of the Harper family.
So sorry to hear this news of Ron's passing. Great memories of our youth growing up in R.R. # 4 Bowmanville and attending Shaw's School with the Harper clan. Murray O'Brien
Ron was a great friend, grumpy old bear that he could be. You could always count on Ron to do what he said, and be trusted completely. So sorry for his passing. Will miss him!
