On Friday, Oct 14, 2022 Jacobus Johannes Elich (Co, Jacob) passed away in the Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg at the age of 91. His charm and wit will be sadly missed by his loving wife Agnes, his children Rob (Suzanne), Helen (Dana) Wild, his grandchildren Connor, Sarah, Vanessa, Emilie (Adam) Wilson, and lastly, the very recent arrival of his great grandchild Sutton Wilson. Co was born in the Netherlands, and served his country proudly in the Korean War, where he was a decorated marine. Upon returning from the war, he was offered a position at CAE Inc. in Montreal, which he accepted, and brought his young family to Canada to create a better life. Co spent his entire professional career at CAE, where he became the Director of Sales of military simulators. He was completely committed to his career in which he travelled the world and was known to enjoy the odd spritzer. Upon retirement he and Agnes moved to Cobourg to live out their quieter years. Co suffered from several severe medical conditions over the last decades, and he will always be remembered and admired for how he met these challenges head-on, with both physical and mental perseverance. He was an incredibly strong man. A Celebration of life will be held in the reception centre at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, Cobourg 30 King Street East from 1 - 3pm.
My condolences Rob and Suzanne and to your family. No matter the circumstances, words at best are difficult to express. Know my thoughts are with you during this time.

Dear Agnes: Deepest sympathy to you and your family. Working with "Co" on the Legion Committee planning a new Legion was a pleasure. His enthusiasm and financial abilities were amazing. Enjoyed your hospitality and cooking prowess when you served us a very tasty lunch. Often thought of you both. Do take care of yourself. Nancy.
So sad to hear of Co’s passing. He was a great neighbor and we always had a good time whether over a cup of coffee or maybe a glass of wine. Our condolences to the family.
