Family and friends, it is with tremendous sadness that we are announcing the passing of our one-of-a-kind, very special guy, Lyn Ventress. After fighting a valiant battle against cancer for well over a year, he left this world gracefully at home surrounded by family on October 13th, 2022, in his 75th year. A huge void is left in the hearts of his wife Gail, children; Steven (Joline), Tony and Michelle, stepson Paul Cavanagh (Tammy), grandchildren; Justin (Charlotte), Jessica (Clovis), Malcolm, Alexis (Vaughn) and Sarina. We also had the wonderful pleasure of welcoming 3 great-grandchildren this year: Nancy Lyn, Leo Lyn and Khalianna. Countless friends and family will miss him as well. We will invite you to join our celebration of his incredible life (to be announced later). If you’d like to make a donation in memory of Lyn, please direct it to the Kingston General Hospital’s Oncology Department, Canadian Cancer Society, or the charity of your choice.
So very sorry to hear of Lynn's passing, to Steven, Tony and Michelle and to their families thinking of you all. Linda (Yeo) Foster

Words cannot express how deeply sorry we are for your loss. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.
We always looked forward to visits with Lyn, talking of the homestead, family, motorcycles and machinery, George and Gwen. He was a gem. Deepest condolences to the whole family.
My earliest memory of Lyn goes back to pre school days at Salem ss#4. The Ventress family lived the next home north to my Grandma Chatterson. Everyday Lyn walked down to the four corners to collect the mail, stopping on his way home to deliver Grandma her letters, payment would be a slice of bread and butter with brown sugar. As all the old familiar family names of the community leave us, the Ventress name is added to the Salem Archives. Rest in peace Lyn, you left George and Gwen proud of your accomplishment in life. Condolences to family left to mourn their loss. Barry and Carolynn (Chatterson) Simpson
It is with sadness that I hear of cousin Lyn's passing. He was of the Ventress generation that tied us to the generations before him. He will be so missed by the generations that follow him. Gail, my condolences to you and all the family.
So sorry to hear of the loss of Lyn: I had the pleasure of working with Lyn on the Salem Cemetery Board for the past 8 years, and he truly was unique but for all the right reasons. He will be sorely missed. Rest in peace my friend.
Dear Gail, Steven, Tony and Michelle. Please accept my sympathies for your loss. Cousin Lyn was an icon of the Ventress family. His powerful hand shake will be missed at the family picnics.
So sorry to hear of Lyn’s passing. We grew up in the same community Salem & attended the same schools. Sending heartfelt condolences.
We are saddened to learn of Lyn's passing, our family knowing George, Gwen and Lyn from when we were very young and attending S.S. #4 - the one-room Salem Public School - and later South Cramahe Public School. At that time, most families knew most of the other families in this closely-knit community. Lyn capably served on the Board of Directors of Salem Cemetery. My condolences to Gail and family.
There goes a really nice fella. Friends as soon as we met ! My sincere respect to his family. Dan Simpson
