On Thursday, July 21, 2022, Michael ‘Mike’ Eyre Davis passed away peacefully at the age of 84. Mike was born in Oakville, Ontario on May 6, 1938, son of Eyre and Louise Davis and brother to Sally and Lee. He will be deeply missed by his devoted wife of 59 years, Julie, daughters Charlene and Eyren, son-in-law Mark and grandson Gavin. Mike (aka Gunner, Heavy, JB, Bompi) was a gregarious, fun-loving and genuine personality who built a successful career in sales. He was instrumental in establishing Junior Hockey in Oakville and served on the Executive of the Oakville Blades during the club's early years. During his retirement in the country, Mike and ‘his goldens’ dedicated their time as volunteers with the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program. In addition to hockey, his lifelong passions included fishing, duck hunting, the Toronto Argonauts, golfing, his dogs and most of all visiting with his friends. His role as grandfather to Gavin, however, trumped all as his proudest achievement in life. The family extends its sincere gratitude for all the support received over the last several years, with special mention to their friends at 148 Third Street condominium, the VON Northumberland Adult Day Centre and Palisade Gardens. They also wish to thank the staff and volunteers in the Palliative Care Unit at the Northumberland Hills Hospital for their incredible compassion and care for Mike during his final days. We believe that wherever Mike is, the sun is shining, the fish are biting, the red wine is flowing, and he is reunited with his dogs and best friends. A private family service will be held at a later date.
Our condolences to you Julie & all your family on the passing of dear Mike. May he Rest in Peace in the arms of his Lord.

Julie, so very sorry to hear about Mike. I have so many great memories of our Blades days, fun times. Pete died six years ago tomorrow, Aug. 1st. I still miss him very much, but have had wonderful support from family and friends; it was Garry and Linda who told me about Mike last night. We raised our glasses to him! I live in Milton now, with Marnie, her husband and daughter, but get to Oakville a couple of times a week; it is still home. Much love to you and your girls and families. xo Nancy.
When I thought of the old days Mike and the Oakville Blades always came to mind. Great memorys of spending my winters helping out with the Blades and spending time at the games with Mike! And i'm sure he was never late for appts. or partys after I got him a great deal on Omega watch . LOL AL Snider old friend
I'm so sorry to hear this sad news. As a young man Mike was a mentor to me - first as a supplier, then a competitor, finally a colleague. Above all else he taught me not to take myself - or my job - too seriously. When he retired our industry lost a lot of colour. Now the world has too. Happy trails Hevy and keep the tip up.
Julie & Family....So sorry to hear of Mike’s passing! Such a nice man, always had a smile & a kind word! Deepest condolences to you Julie & all your family! Sheila & Perry
