Peacefully, with her family by her side, at the Northumberland Hills Hospital, Cobourg, on Sunday June 26, 2022, of Constance (Connie) Isabelle Stewart, of Cobourg Ontario, aged 75 years. Connie was born on June 19, 1947, in Souris, Prince Edward Island, to the late Irene and George Roach. The daughter of a fisherman, Connie spent many of her early days at the Souris Wharf aboard the family fishing dragger. She was a proud Islander and cherished spending her summer’s down home at her cottage in Red Point with family and friends. Her deeply rooted connections to Prince Edward Island remained steadfast throughout her life.
Connie was the dedicated wife to Lorne Stewart for 52 years and loving and devoted mother to her three boys; Ray (Petra) Stewart of Cobourg, Ont., Chad (Danielle) Stewart of Cobourg, Ont., and Allan (Sara) Stewart of Cobourg, Ont. Connie will also be greatly missed by her daughter and niece; Jillian Dixon-Boxer (Maurice) of Vancouver, B.C.
One of Connie’s greatest joys in life was becoming the cherished Nana to her 5 grandchildren; Declan, Kennedy, Connor, Cohen, and Aanna. Connie will be sadly missed by her siblings; Lynn Ann Dixon (Edgar), Souris, P.E.I., and George Roach, Cobourg, Ont., as well as her brothers and sisters-in-law; Kathleen Stewart, Port Coquitlam, B.C., Basil (Gail) Stewart, Summerside, P.E.I., Blair (Donna) Stewart, Charlottetown, P.E.I., Stephen (Dawn) Stewart, Glengarry, P.E.I., and Doris Stewart, Charlottetown, P.E.I. She was predeceased by her sister, Audrey Morrow, and nephew, Jeffrey Morrow. Connie will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life on Sunday, July 10, 2022, from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. at the Best Western Plus Cobourg Inn and Convention Centre, as well as a Memorial Mass at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, on August 20, 2022, at 5p.m.
