Terry was an awesome person, and he definitely made a lot of my work days brighter! He would often come to the Cobourg mall, sit on the couches and watch the hockey games and played his pro-line. I will miss the days I spent many lunch breaks chatting and hanging out with him. He made me laugh everytime we spoke. A message to Terry: You're a good guy. I'll miss you dearly my friend. My condolences to the Brock family, and apologies that this message is so late.
A late message but heartfelt. Lasher was Cobourg greatest waiter. He was always so quick with the wit. My Dad would go to the mall and visit Terry holding court everyday. He was an inspiration to us all. So very sad to hear of his passing. The Bate family.
Very sorry to hear of Terry's passing. He was a wise, kind soul. I truly enjoyed our encounters. May the many fond memories of " Lasher " provide comfort to the family. R.I.P. , Terry.
My deepest condolences to the Brock family. Terry was a Cobourg legend, a one-of-a-kind guy that you just instantly connected with and who never, ever failed to make me laugh! Like many here, growing up in Cobourg in the 1960s through early 80s, I knew Lasher from my many visits to the Plaza back in the day. Sadly, it has been a decade since I’ve properly visited our amazing Cobourg, and that was the last time I saw Lasher, walking along Division Street, where we stopped to chat and had some good laughs. As I get older, I look back on my life and remember the very special people whose paths I have crossed, and Terry was definitely high on my list. A warm, caring, human…not to be forgotten. Rest In Peace buddy.
I was a nurse at the Vascular Lab...and Terry was a patient I looked after quite often... I will always have such fond memories of our many chats, his colorful cards and gifts for the staff..and his unfailing zest for life. He gifted me an angel pin when I retired....I will always treasure it!!
To the Brock family,so sorry to hear the passing of Terry..He was a awesome guy, always joking, smiling …Rest in peace Terry..
Very sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved brother/uncle/great-uncle.
Lasher was an amazing waiter and friend. I came to know him while having lunches at the plaza on Friday afternoons from school. As I later acknowledged I don’t think in my teenage years, I ever left him a well deserving tip. I was so grateful I could make right by him and we never passed a chance for a kind word or gesture. He would send candies up to the office while in having his treatment and I would treat him to some peanut butter cookies while he was under the weather. I will miss our chats, your fun loving spirit and grateful to call you my friend. Rest Well my friend. 💐 Jamie
Our sincere condolences to the Brock family. We have so many fond memories of Terry Lasher, he used to drop by every Christmas Eve when the children were small. Such a kind and nice person he will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. We will keep you all in our prayers and thoughts. Rob and Cyndy Harper
I'm so sorry to hear of the families loss I always liked lasher and enjoyed his company in occasion I thought him to be a very desent person and will be missed
Coming late to this, so much to say. Terry and I became friends in grade nine enjoying MAD Magazines. He and Ken Manley, Al Tomaso, Tom Lewis and Norm Sanche would hitch hike to Harwood for table hockey tournaments. My mother looked after them with lots of food and Terry always expressed over the years how much he loved her for that. In 96 he showed up to join myself, friends and relatives the night of my mother's funeral at Best Western where many were staying. He made such an impression on everyone that night with his knowledge of the horse races and quick sense of humour. I last saw him at the West Highschool closing weekend a few years ago and had a great time together. Knowing he was on dialysis and how Covid would have curbed his social life so important to him and others I decided to go see him just a couple of days before I heard the news. A lesson to not leave things to the last minute. My heart goes out to the family and many others who's lives he touched.
I was lucky enough to play all star softball with Terry in the 1960's. I would always see Terry downtown (for the last five decades) and he would tease me about being a "Montreal Canadiens" fan. Yes, Terry and I would also discuss what was going on in the sports world ....... as his comments were always very thoughtful. I will miss his friendship, and smile, as he teased me continually. My prayers are with you Terry and your family. Greg Gallagher
So sorry for your loss.

Terry will be sorely missed. He always had joke or smart remark on hand for any occasion. Always had to laugh at his seasonal costumes to entertain people at the clinic.

My deepest condolences to Terry's entire family. He was one of the few people I have ever met that was a truly wonderful person who treated everybody the way he wished to be treated. A more genuine human being you'd never meet. You will be missed Lasher. Requiem aeternam
KAREN , your brother was a Cobourg icon. He will be missed. Thinking of you and your family at this time.
To The Brock Family, My sincere condolences on the passing of Terry. Serving at the Plaza, he would have your drink on the table and a match in hand to light your cigarette. He was an all round great guy and will be surely missed. Rest in peace Lash.
Lasher’s mission in life it seems was to provide joy to others. And when you reciprocated even the smallest of gestures did not go unnoticed by this wonderful man. He was simply THE BEST no matter what he did. One hot summer afternoon while working a gig on the local recycling truck, he showed up at my sister’s place with an ice cold beer on a tray and delivered it to her door. What a guy!! So perhaps his days as an outstanding waiter continued long after the Plaza Hotel. Lasher was one of Cobourg’s legends. He was a one of a kind beautiful soul. Never to be forgotten. Rest In Peace my friend.

Terry was a wonderful companion to my father when he was in hospital where they shared a room. Terry's kind ways, bravery in facing health challenges and his passion for the history of the Cobourg area taught us all something. His phone call chats will be missed.

My sincere condolences to Terry’s family. Terry was a lovely person who always had time to chat, spoke with integrity and could always bring a smile to my face. Heaven gained an angel.
Sincere condolences for your loss. Always a friendly face and cared about other community members.
Oh, Lasher! What a great guy you were: quick wit, great sense of humour - and quietly watching out for any potential, and uncalled-for nastiness to neophytes entering the heady, risqué world of the Plaza Hotel. That proved to get a tad challenging, so we newspaper folk switched to lunches at The Plaza (besides, we had to cover stuff evenings). You were a true friend. Your Mom, an Angel. RIP, Lasher. Thank you.
Karen/ Dave, Dianne/Fred and the Brock family I offer my deepest condolences with the loss of Lasher….RIP Terry..🥲
