Peacefully at the Northumberland Hills Hospital on Wednesday June 8th, 2022 in her 68th year. Loving mother of Amanda McGinn (Dwayne Schwantz) and Stephen McGinn. Proud grandmother of Emmett. Beloved sister of Paul Dingman (Victoria), Ted Dingman (Debbie), Ruth McCracken (Gary) and Betty Weese (Doug). Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Dearly missed by her friend and long term caretaker Lena Hart. Pre-deceased by her parents Lyle and Marion Dingman and sister Shirley. Kathy has fond memories of her many years of employment at the OPP detachment in Cobourg. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Michael Bayer and all those involved in her compassionate care over the last years of her life. We are eternally grateful. In lieu of donations, Kathy would like you to honour her with an act of kindness to someone in your community. As per Kathy’s wishes, cremation and private family arrangements have been made.
I met Kathy when she was at Lyndhurst centre in Toronto. We have kept I touch for over 20 years. I didn't send xmas cards as I had cancer surgery recently. Went to call her last nite n her line was not in service. I talked to her on her bday. Always had a laugh when we chatted. Lena was to let me know when something happened. I Google Kathy n had a cry when I found out the news. She is at peace. My sympathy to her family. I remember Ted when he would come n pick Kathy up at Lyndhurst. Again my sympathies to the family. She was a special woman n I will miss her. Take care
