Ngoc Gadd (Tran)

November 26, 1974 - June 1, 2022

Born November 26, 1974 in Cau Ke, Mekong Region - Vietnam, died June 1st, 2022.

Ngoc, the loving wife of Bill Gadd, passed away in Northumberland Hills Hospital after a lengthy 43 days stay in palliative care from a 2.5 years struggle with Ovarian Cancer.

She will be dearly missed by her Vietnam Friends and Family Members – Daughter of Dieu and Cuc Tran, Sister to Dao, Son, Thach, Phuong, Hai and their partners and many nieces and nephews.

Loving Stepmother to April Gadd (Brett), Bria Gadd, Adam Gadd (Gail), Grandchildren - Niall, Henry, Ray, Tessa, James and Luke, Daughter-in-Law of the late Audrey and Bill Gadd, Sister-in-Law to late John Gadd (Vicky), Steve Gadd (Faithe), Rick Gadd (Jan) and Paul Gadd (Diane).

A real heartbreaker seeing such a young woman taken from us so early in her years. Everyone who knew Ngoc or by “Rose” would state she was the warmest, kindest, loyal and hard working person they had the pleasure of knowing. Ngoc and Bill were together 17 years having met in Vietnam. Neither spoke each other’s language for a long time, till Ngoc attended 2 years in English Language Training School in Vietnam and Bill brushed up on his Vietnamese. Thus the magic of 2 souls coming together.

Ngoc worked at Nice One Nails and was the most generous person having dedicated all her earnings over the years to helping her parents, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and those most unfortunate in Vietnam to manage the difficulties in their lives. She won the hearts easily with all the Gadd Family who adored her.

Ngoc will return to her home in Cau Ke, Vietnam where a Celebration of Life in Buddhist fashion will be undertaken with the countless friends and family members who have dearly loved her and missed her.

So much thanks needs to go to countless health supporters on Ngoc’s behalf ... Dr. Mueller, Dr. Smerdon, Dr. A. Stratford, Dr. Dersnah, the Palliative Care Nurses, - Janet, Colleen, Karen, and Colin.

A special thanks to April and Bria Gadd who lovingly supported Ngoc and their Father over the many years right up till the time of death. So much support was also provided over the years to both Ngoc and Bill from friends David and Juan McCaig, Jim Berg, Ross and Kim Murray.

If desired donations may be made to the Northumberland Hills Hospital– Palliative Care Unit.

For many years I have known Bill and Ngoc and visited them everytime Bill was in Ho Chi Minh City where I have been living for nearly 24 years. Ngoc was always a joy to be with and she was the sweetest most kind person with an expansive heart. Despite the language barrier, Bill and Ngoc found ways to communicate and were a shining beacon of compassion and caring, truly representing the best of us. I cannot imagine the sadness and sorrow Bill is experiencing not having his partner by his side any longer. My condolences to Ngoc's family who have to endure such a terrible time and pain. Ngoc will be missed and always in our thoughts. Rest in peace my friend. Milton & Leo Ho Chi Minh City

It is my pleasure to get to know Ngọc, a humble lady and always put people first. Those moments that I learned how to cook from her, we talked and ate some Vietnamese dishes. The moment as I remembered one morning she came out and was humming some songs in the kitchen - those moments will stay forever. She told me she is lucky to be loved by Bill and have had such wonderful family. Just so you know our latest conversation is about Ngọc, feeling grateful to the life she has. Sending with our deepest sympathy to your loss From Michelle and Allen Shum
