After a courageous and challenging battle, Bernard “Bernie” Laufert has transitioned to the spiritual plane. He left us early Saturday morning at Northumberland Hills Hospital on May 28, 2022, at the age of 65.
Bernie drifted off peacefully to the sounds of his favourite music while held in the arms of his childhood sweetheart and surrounded by his family.
We take comfort in knowing he is no longer in pain and we're fortunate and grateful for the time we spent with him.
He will be forever loved and missed by his wife Lori "Lola" Laufert. (nee: Ziegler)
They were married 42 years and best friends for over 50. He raised 2 sons, Zachary and Jeremy and loved their partners Viki and Kirsten.
He'll be missed and remembered lovingly by his sisters Betty, Sonya and brother Paul. As well by his in-laws Brooks, John, and Virginia and many nieces and nephews. Bernie was always welcome and well loved in Lori's family.
Bernie was a loyal friend to many and enjoyed every moment of laughter and love to those close to him. He loved quiet bike rides and loud music. He was a world traveler and a neighbourly handyman.
Bernie was well known and well liked in his community and volunteered at the local ecology garden. His dedication, kindness and personality will be missed by his many cherished friends and social circle.
As per Bernie’s wishes, no formal arrangements have been made. He did ask to those wishing to show support if desired, please consider donating blood at your local blood donation centre to help continue saving the lives of those who need it most.
Thanks to all for your love and support.
