So sad to hear of Catherine's passing! She was a good friend and I will always remember her dedication to heritage, and her especially helpful advice whenever called upon when I was writing the column in the Cobourg Star. More than that, I will treasure her happy hugs.

Oh! The thrill of debate! Catherine was always up for that! She tolerated me in her Gore’s Landing Brownie pack - in fact was a blessing because she encouraged independence of thought and approach. Later, I remember lunches with she and my Mom in Cobourg and Port Hope, talking local issues/politics. Great joy - and fearless options. Catherine was a champion of our history and it’s value. Much love to Carol and Don (angels), Andy and extended family.
