Lydia Gibson

June 25, 1932 - April 27, 2022

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Lydia Gibson (nee: Kellermeier) Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at the Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg at the age of 89. Lydia passed peacefully with her daughter at her bedside. We take peace in knowing that Lydia is now reunited for all eternity with her husband John (Jack) Gibson who pre-deceased her in 1990. Loving and devoted mother to Kathy (Jamie La France) Gibson- LaFrance and fur-mother to her fur-babies Chloe and Tessa. Pre-deceased by her parents Karl and Elizabeth Kellermeier. Sister of Wilhelm Kellermeier and Karl- Heinz Kellermeier. Lydia will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her many friends including her best friend Shirley Narine, her neighbour and dear friend Leslie Wilfong, and Rebecca Louie from Toronto. Born in Germany, on June 25, 1932, Lydia moved to Montreal Canada, and then settled in Toronto in 1957. Mom worked in the catering business for many years, before retiring at age 72. In 2007 Lydia became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, of which she remained a faithful member. In 2009 Lydia moved from Toronto to Cobourg. A funeral service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 8224 Danforth Road West, Cobourg, Ontario on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 1:00 PM. Friends and family are welcome to a reception at the church following the service. Lydia will be laid to rest alongside her husband at the York Cemetery 160 Beecroft Road, Toronto, Ontario, on Saturday, May, 28th 2022 at 1:00pm. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the Northumberland Hills Hospital’s palliative care unit, and Medical and Surgical Inpatient Unit , and Katie for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Northumberland Humane Society.
