Born in Dundonald Ontario into a large loving family, Bill passed peacefully at NHH with family by his side in his 90th year.
Beloved husband of 66 years to Margaret (Haynes). Dear father of Donna North (John), Greg (Nancy), Garth, Chris (Julie). Much loved grandpa of Michael (Shawna), Stephen (Kristy), David (Kate) and Bompa to Cori and Adam. Great-grandpa to Jacob, Ashley, Wesley, Elsa and Barrett. Loved daughter-in-law Trelani Chapman and special family friend Judy Cameron. He was loved by our sweet dog Lilly.
Bill was the end of an era— predeceased by sisters Ruth, Lola, Bernice, Thelma, Vera, Adele, Hazel, Dorothy and Doreen, and brothers Lawrence, Lloyd, Carl, Ron, Raymond, Lyal, Jack, and Harold.
Bill worked for Mathews Conveyor from age 19 until retirement at 62. He travelled extensively with his work. Bill and Marg also enjoyed vacations around the world. After retirement he continued to work occasionally with Norpac and then with Franz Meltzer at B&F Airport Systems Inc.
A service will be held on Saturday May 14, 2022 in Castleton Cemetery at 3:00 pm. All are welcome.
If desired donations can be made in his name to Heart and Stroke Foundation or to Bill’s favourite place Cobourg V.O.N. Adult Day Program.

Dear Marg and Family... I was very sorry to see the announcement of Bill's passing. I worked in the Project Services/Installation Dept. of Mathews Conveyer back in the mid- 1970's as their secretary. Bill was one of the leading Millwrights in the installation dept. and I remember him as an extremely skilled, soft-spoken, and very kind gentleman. I remember a job that he was heading up in St. John's, Newfoundland. Bill, Lorne Hellam and their crew were fogged in there for an extra week and a half after the job was finished! With my deepest sympathy as you grieve the loss of your much-beloved Bill.
