Lynda Schultz - April 14, 2022

I just learned of Marguerite's passing. My condolences to her family and friends. Marguerite and I go back to "ancient" times. Jim was in the same youth group I was in back in Timmins, I came to know Marguerite in Toronto through a mutual friend. The relationship grew after she and Jim married. The times I spent in her home, in conversations via phone and letters was always a blessing. A gracious, kind, and funny lady but most importantly a servant of the Lord who now has welcomed her into His presence where there is joy forevermore.

Kevin James - March 31, 2022

My wife Beverley and I are thankful to have spent a full evening with Marguerite in January of this year. She was really enjoying being in the home of our son Regan and his wife Rebecca. She loved the delicious meals and the laughter and busyness of an active family filled with the interactions of three teenage girls and their parents. The family dog adopted Marguerite and was very protective of her. I think the affection was mutual. As we visited together that night, we enjoyed many rambles down different memory lanes. We talked about the summer I lived with Marguerite and Jim at their apartment in Toronto. We remembered some of her visits to my home when I was a child in Markham and especially her presence one Christmas morning when I was about 7. We talked about Jim's love of driving their camper to many places in Canada and then Marguerite's driving that truck and trailer across Canada by herself after Jim's passing. She actively expressed her care for her many family members and friends. Marguerite was a courageous and independent woman, very competent in her work and appreciated by her colleagues. Together with Jim she enjoyed many years in active membership at different Baptist churches, Jim with the bus ministries and Marguerite with libraries and other church ministries. I will really miss her quiet strength and positive conversation as will everyone who knew and loved her.

DUNCAN MCKINLAY - March 30, 2022

Susan and I express our sympathy for Marguerites passing. The news brings forth a celebration of a life well lived, in sharing herself with family church and so many others. I have great memories of thoughtful, caring and intimate conversations punctuated with a great smile and great humour. She was a friend to all but an especially great friend to my dear aunt Bessie. Duncan McKinlay

Mandy - March 28, 2022

As a PSW I first met Marguerite at her apartment. When she moved to Roseglen I was her main morning caregiver from St Elizabeth’s. She was always happy to hear my voice and so grateful for the little extras. She had a great sense of humour and laughed at herself for little blunders. She is and will be missed by many.

M. Elizabeth McKinlay & David Morris - March 28, 2022

Marguerite was my father’s first cousin. She was always present at the yearly James-Ball picnic held the first Saturday in June at Springwater Park in Midhurst and at the yearly services both at the Friends’ Meeting House near Uxbridge and at Rock Union Church (a few miles north of her childhood home on the 6th Concession of Collingwood Township). Marguerite valued and worked actively to maintain connection with her extended family. She was always interested to know of our activities and involvements and was a gentle and engaged conversationalist. We give thanks to God for the gift of her life and all that she shared and gave to others. Our deepest sympathy to her family. M. Elizabeth McKinlay & David Morris

Margeurite gave me my first opportunity to serve at FBC in the Library. Her kind words, and thoughtful actions continued for many years past my ‘library duty’. She was one of 5 very significant ladies who encouraged and invested in me as a young person at FBC. Thank you Margeurite!
