Our heavenly Father gently carried Mary Helen Wright to her heavenly home on Thursday February 17th, 2022. Her homegoing has filled us with sorrow, but we are comforted by the amazing providence of God that has brought all our family together during this last week and answered our prayer for Him to gently take her home.
Mary Helen Wright is a special person, especially due to the greatness of her Saviour. Because of that connection with Jesus, she has loved much; her husband Eric E. Wright, her sisters, Edna Earl--who has preceded her--Annie Pearl and Colie, who have also inherited the Stokes generosity.
She loved her children, Stephen, Deborah and John along with their spouses, Catherine, Brian, and Shona. She loved her nine grandchildren; Lydia, Samuel, Hope, Shareena, Adrianna, Kassandra, Cailie, Nathan, and Luke plus 3 great grandchildren; Ava, Hayden and Gabriel. She loved her neighbours and friends.
Most of all she loved God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. In these last days, she might quote, “Be still and know that I am God,” as she thought about the wonder of the Trinity and prayed. She looked forward to going home to heaven so very much and she wanted to make the passage from home not from a hospital or institution.
One of the last things from her lips was; “Love God first,” her prayer for her family and those around her. For some months, God in his grace directed two extraordinarily loving and practical women, retired personal support workers, to help us. Christie and Sharon seem like members of the family. The help we have received from the health community has also been sterling.

I feel blessed to have known Mary Helen and treasure the times we had at Book Club. I appreciated getting to know her life story in the book she co-authored with Eric and marvelled at her courage and wisdom in coping with whatever came her way.
I was so sorry to see Mrs Wright's picture on the MacCoubrey's website tonight as, being away from the church during covid, I had not heard of her passing until now. Condolences to her family on the passing of this dear lady, mightily used by GOD throughout her lifetime of love and service. I only ever had a few conversations with her but I have heard family members speak and have seen the impact of a life well-lived in her children and grandchildren-a beautiful legacy, she has. Prayers for GOD's love and comfort to the family in these days of sorrow, until by grace, we meet again. Shalom
