So sorry to hear of Lois passing. Every time I met her she was always concerned about me even though she had been through so much. Such a lovely person. A very warming neighbour from our Springbrook days . RIP Lois .

I was privileged to work with Lois in Obstetrics at the old Cobourg hospital. She was an amazing nurse with a gentle, beautiful spirit, and a joy to work with. She hand knit a sweet (elephant) sweater for my oldest daughter, and was know for random acts of love and kindness. I am sorry for your loss. Janet Crosby

She moved to Cobourg & I always visited her as I lived in Cobourg! My sister was the baby sitter for the family when Lois was nursing at Cobourg General Hospital! A wonderful person!

I am so sorry to hear about Lois I just saw the obituary just now. I worked at the HKPR Health Unit and we spent many lunch hours together and sharing knitting projects. I've never forgotten this lovely woman. Lois for me was an angel. She was my nurse in the Cobourg Hospital on Chapel St., when I gave birth to my children. While I was in discomfort, and unknown territory, she was an angel and helped me through it and later would bring my baby to me and would teach me through nursing and stay until I was comfortable and always let me keep my babies in my room longer then she was suppose to. RIP Lois. Condolences to son, Paul and family.

I was so sad to find Lois' obituary in the paper today. She was such a lovely lady and had such a wonderful sense of humor. Please accept my condolences on her passing. She will be missed.

Extending condolences to all the family. Lois was such a joy to work with at the Health Unit. She spoke so proudly of her family and was always so cheerful. We spent many lunch hours walking together and chatting. Her love of rhubarb connected us each spring after she retired and I looked forward to a visit with her. She will be missed by so many people whose lives she touched.

This is indeed sad news. I worked with Lois at KKPR Health Unit until her retirement and for me she was a mentor. Because of her immense kindness and empathy as well as her knowledge she was relied upon by many. What I remember so clearly is Lois’s wonderful sense of humour and her warm laughter. I was always thought she was a wonderful person and nurse. She will be deeply missed.

My sincerest condolences to the entire family. My late stepmother, Penny Ewen, was a nursing student with Lois. They maintained close contact and Penny considered her a very dear friend and often talked fondly of Lois to me. Lois was the glue that kept the nursing class connected. My parents were especially touched when she and Pat O’Connor travelled to Barrie to attend their 45th wedding anniversary. Our family was also grateful for the nursing honour guard at the inurnment of my parents organized by Lois and friends. A great loss for the family and the community. Our five Power cousins, Lois, Kathryn, Patsy, Jimmy and Joanie spent much quality time during our younger years with Dad, Mom, Harold and me on our family farm, Beebrook Farm. Dad, Mom, Harold and I welcomed the Power children into our hearts and home with open arms and we functioned as a family with seven children. Lois was the eldest of the kids and often was our "mother figure". Lois helped me learn to read, spell as well as many more things too numerous to mention! Lois has left us with many happy memories to cherish. Our hearts will always smile when we think of her.

Lois was a treasure: professional, wise, kind, funny, loyal, and respected by colleagues of all professions. RIP Lois.

I am so sorry to hear of Lois’s passing. We go way back to the days of highland dancing. In more recent years we enjoyed many chats at the Concert Hall -reminiscing about highland games, her kids and grandkids. She was so proud of all of you.

I was very sorry to hear of Lois' passing. She had communicated with us so often over the years. My wife, Maureen, was a HDH classmate who predeceased Lois by three weeks. Lois and some classmates borrowed a friend's car and travelled to New Brunswick to attend our wedding, and reassembled fifty years later to help us celebrate our golden anniversary in Cornwall friendship.. Maureen really valued her

I worked side by side with Lois at the HKPR health unit in Port Hope and admired her for her dedication to her profession, the position that she held in the department that we were in and challenges that she met. I think that was her introduction to computer use and we had many laughs and frustrations with technology! She was always so upbeat and positive and while I may have mentored her in computers, she mentored me in raising teenagers and life in general. Such good memories of her wedding and supporting each other in our jobs. Lois loved her family and spoke of them often. She will be missed by many in our community.
