Peacefully at the Northumberland Hills Hospital on Wednesday January 26th, 2022 in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late Ernest Lackey. Loving mother of Greg Lackey (the late Denise), Linda Rayner (Kelvin), the late Debra Turk (Terry) and the late David Lackey (the late Tammy). Cherished grandmother of Sandy Turk (Adam), Jeremy Turk, Jazmin Houston (Ian) and Tammy Chamberlain (Tim) and great grandmother of Anna, Colton, Kael, Tabitha and Natasha. Dear sister of Bill Chapman and pre-deceased by Bernice, Lloyd, Hazel, Dorothy, Carl, Ron, Thelma, Lawrence, Ruth, Lola, Adele, Jack, Vera, Ray, Lyal and Harold. A graveside service will be held at Shiloh Cemetery on Saturday May 7th, 2022 at 11am followed by a reception at Dundonald Hall. If desired donations may be made to Eden United Church (cheques only, made payable to Friends of Dundonald) or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

I was very saddened to hear that Doreen had passed away! I worked with Doreen for many years at Bowes and developed a great friendship with her. She was a wonderful lady, who will be missed by many!!! Please know that the family is in our thoughts and prayers!!

Francis ? Golly Aunt Doreen, you pulled another fast one on us. Gonna miss your date squares, planting potatoes, and your amazing sense of humour. A life well lived and respected.
Aunt Doreen was a gift to us all. We will miss the warmth in her brown eyes, her smile, quick wit and hugs. She generously and happily shared her musical talent. We remember wonderful times at family gatherings of her playing the piano, taking turns with our mom, Vera, along with the other pianists in the family and with uncles and cousins on guitars and violins joining in. She was a wonderful person and always welcomed us and was happy to see our family. She was such a little spitfire and enjoyed being with her immediate family and her large extended family especially at our family functions when we all got together!
