Sorry to learn of your father’s passing. My father sure did enjoy his company. Often along side with the late Pete Newton. I last saw your dad the summer before Covid. He was with Ivan Moore enroute to Hoard’s station sales barn and looking forward to good meal there. Spirits were high and I remember thinking that it didn’t really matter where those two were going….it was going to be a great day. Sending our condolences, Paul and Anita

I met this amazing man years ago when I worked for V.O.N. I looked after his lovely wife Betty. This family held a very special place in my heart. Walking into their home was like walking in to see an old friend. They were both so kind, welcoming and wonderful. While I no longer work in health care, both Jack and Betty remain my absolute favorite clients I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and caring for. I will always remember Bettys deep love for her boys and how much Jack loved watching Two and Half Men and how much he hated the Simpsons. Still make me laugh when I think about it. I am so very sorry for your loss. Thinking of you all.

Sorry to hear of the passing of your father, we send our condolences and best wishes to you and all your family.
Peter, Leanne, Sara and family--So sorry to hear of your loss. Jack was a wonderful man and father. We always loved driving up Hwy 45 and having a look at his beautiful cattle. We really enjoyed and are greatful for the time we spent with him.
Jack has a special place in my heart as a great friend to my father, Ivan Moore. We used to joke about dad's "boyfriend" when they took in their weekly breakfast dates in Grafton as well as their day trips through the country side. You were never quite sure where they would end up when they left. My own daughters also had the pleasure of meeting Jack. Upon hearing of his passing my eldest, 14 year old Kassandra, recalled the day that she introduced her grandparents and Jack to tacos - a meal she had them while visiting her grandparents in Cobourg. She found it quite amusing to watch three "old people" (her words) eating tacos. Jack will be forever remembered as a great friend to my father and our entire family. My condolences to Baker family on the loss of a great man.

Jack worked on our farm when I was growing up. Jack left a deep impression on me - hard working, positive, strong, funny, caring and authentic - the kind of human being I cherish. Those of us who knew him on a daily basis, knew he was one of those kind and beautiful people that are rare and precious in life. It was an honour to know Jack and Betty.
Jack was teaching me about life as I grew up working next to him on the farm,he was always willing to help anyone who needed it. He was the strongest man I ever knew, paws like a bear, heart like a lion and gentle as a lamb. Lynda and I will miss him , until we meet again.
Pete, Leanne & Sara, so sorry for your loss thinking of you all at this time.

Our hearts are with you at this time John and Donna plus all family
Dear John and Donna, Peter and Leanne, I really can't fathom that Jack has passed. I would rather think that he has "passed over" the farm stream to another pasture, deep in clover, ringed by a rail fence. This barrell-chested man was meant to be a person of the land, wrestling with cows and nature. He always had a great anecdote and the ability to share it with descriptive flourishes. Wishing all of you love and the peace of his passing over to another country.
We, the Davidson cousins, were saddened to hear of Jack's passing. You chose well, the picture for his memorial, because it shows so well his personality. Our last in-person visit was in June, when Jack came to spend some time with us on a sunny morning, when we could sit on the deck. We always enjoyed his drop-by visits. We'll miss those lively conversations. Sending love, Marian.
Dear John and Peter So sorry for your loss. I have happy memories of Corktown with our good neighbours Betty and Jack and their cute, little blond boys living across the street - a lovely, happy family. Jack always seemed larger than life riding his bike back and forth to Port Hope everyday and he was the only person I ever knew with a Husky team - great, unforgettable memories…Thinking of you and yours. Lynda

Peter: Truly sorry to hear of the passing of your dad. Jay Sherwin
Jack came to our family's farm in Hamilton Twp. from England when he was a teenager. Jack's ready smile, his "whistling while you work", and optimistic attitude made him the person you most wanted to work alongside. My parents became Jack's parents in Canada and he affectionately called them Ma and Pa. I was very young when Jack first arrived at our place, but as the years passed I remember Jack always having a few minutes to help a person "learn things"...whether it be teaching me how to brush my teeth properly, or driving the tractor while others picked up hay bales and put them on the waggon. Not too long ago Jack and I had a good chat at a Birthday party... where he talked with a great deal of pride and affection about his sons, sister, and grandchildren. Jack will be missed by all who knew him! My deepest sympathy to all family members

John, Peter and families; With great sadness Howard and I learned of our dear friend, Jack's death. His hearty laugh and optimistic attistude will long be remembered by many. He had a great circle of friends and he was always interesting to talk to...and you always felt better after his visits. I will never forget the day 17 year old, Jack arrived in Canada to work on my dad's farm north of Cobourg. It was mid July and Jack wore a heavy duffle coat which he soon changed to a pair of shorts and a T-shirt. We have been friends for more than 60 years and we will cherish many fantastic memories. Take care and remember the good times we all shared. Cathy (Lang) McCann
