It is with sadness that we mourn the passing of the pillar of our family, Christopher Blastorah.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 38 years Kathy, his daughters Elizabeth and Alice (Basil), grandchildren Luciana and Oscar and siblings Billy, Peter, Joe, Marie and Patti Jo. Respected by many, Chris will also be missed by his large extended family, his many godchildren, friends and neighbors. Chris was a devout Catholic and we were blessed to learn many valuable lessons of love and generosity from him. Even in his last days Chris maintained his concern for the wellbeing of others. An avid outdoorsman, and usually clad in a combination of plaid and camouflage, Chris could often be found working or fishing at his favourite place - 'The Point'. Chris also enjoyed driving his collection of tractors, atv, and 'granny-mobiles', often with grandkids in tow. We will miss his sense of humour, sound advice, and love. A sincere thank you to Dr. Swain, Dr. Xi and the nurses and staff at Northumberland Hills Hospital for their dedication. A funeral mass will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Church 379 Division Street in Cobourg at 1:30pm on Friday, November 26th. A private burial will be held after mass followed by a reception at MacCoubrey Funeral Home 30 King Street East in Cobourg at 3:30pm on the same day. People planning to attend the reception will need to provide proof of full vaccination at the door to achieve entry . Donations in Chris' memory may be made to Northumberland Hills Hospital or a charity of your choice.
So saddened to hear this news. Chris was a wonderful man, and I will always remember bringing him medical equipment, filling his garage for the great charitable work he did for so many years. He will live on. RIP Chris.

Our condolences to Kathy and Family. We were heartbroken to hear of Chris's passing. Chris always had a friendly, welcoming smile to greet you. We have lots of fun memories of Chris from our Harwood days. Chris would invite his friends to come over to the house and listen to his dad Jimmy play the piano and sing along. Lots of laughs and good memories. Chris was one of the most genuine, kind and considerate people we had the honour of knowing as a friend. He will be so sadly missed by his family and many friends. Dear Kathy, Liz and Alice. We were shocked and saddened to hear that Chris passed. He was such a good guy. I remember him taking Peter and Matthew on the ATM at the point, a place that he loved to share with others. Even though we haven't been in close contact over the years, our hearts break for all of you. It is an enormous loss. We are sending hugs and support for the weeks and months ahead. Chris, you have been a huge part of my family's life over the years, your friendship with my dad, Bruce, was one to be admired, 40 + years, possibly closer to 50 years of friendship is truly amazing. Thank you for being a great man, friend, husband, father, brother, uncle and "uncle" to me and my sisters. Your humour and contagious smile will forever be in my heart. Chris was a great man who left a legacy of love and compassion to everyone he called friend and family. Chris was generous, kind, patient and loved a good laugh.
