It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother at Northumberland Hills Hospital on September 16, 2021. She was the beloved wife for 59 years of the late Milt Badgley. Loving mother of Janice (Mark Flesch) of Toronto and Rae of Cobourg.
Over the last year Mom had said many times that she has had a good life. Born the only child of Melvin and Zetta White near Little Britain later moving to Lindsay. She left her career as a teacher in Toronto to marry Dad, move to Cobourg and raise their two children. Life was not the same without her 'honey' but she was resilient and with the help of her children, continued living in what was her home for nearly 58 years. She loved to be outside tending to her lawn and gardens and growing collection of planters and maintained her curiosity of the universe. She enjoyed her crossword puzzles and remained an avid euchre shark.
Arlene met Milt at a social club in Peterborough and found a shared interest in square dancing and each other.
They enjoyed their winter trips down south and when Dad retired would spend part of the winter in Florida where they loved walking the beach with Mom reaching for Dad's hand to ensure they remained in step. They enjoyed a happy, loving partnership and the memories they created for their children will be cherished.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family graveside service will follow cremation.
If desired, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Northumberland Hills Hospital or a charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.

so sorry to hear of Arlene's passing. She was always so sweet when we used to see them at the old Larchmere golf course, and Bea would always see her when she was out walking. Hopefully they are now playing golf with their sweetheart in heaven. Cindy and Michael Roffey

I never met Arlene (or Milt for that matter) but from my vantage as Janice and Mark's friend and neighbour in Toronto, I feel I know her as a loving and fun-loving mother, but more importantly, I know how deeply grateful she was to her kids' care and attention over the last 15 months. Dear Janice, Ray and Mark, We have been neighbours of Arlene and Milt for 48 years and the neighbourhood will not be the same. I saw your Mom puttering in the yard this summer and thought that she must find it tough without Milt. She is now at home with her Lord and Saviour. The peace of Christ is with you.
