Remembering my Aunt Edna who was full of life and fun! I remember as a kid her bringing Avon gifts to everyone when she came to visit on the Island. I always picked the lipsticks. Life's journey is all about what you did while going through that journey. We all know Edna squeezed every ounce out of her journey. Her laugh, her love of family , friends , her love of coming back to PEI anytime she could, enjoying around the beach. Her memory recall I think she inherited from her Mom our Grannie Murphy. To my Aunt Edna, who was my Godmother ( Godfather Frank Mckenna) I will always remember your infectious smile, the kindness that Russ and you showed us during Lorri and I's visit to your home in Sept 1988. Your sincere and kind way of asking about us, our lives, our children, during any conversation whether in person or on the phone. Our last conversation in early Sept catching up on how Art was doing will forever remind me of ALL the things we all loved about you. RIP Edna, say hello to our Dad Charlie. with love from Brian, Lorri, Zac & Olivia Murphy
Edna has left an indelible mark on the Murphy family. I still recall Edna sending home small gifts to PEI where Fr. Lou would use them at Sunday BBQs and prizes at the "fish pond" for the many nieces and nephews that would gather with Granny Murphy and the many aunts and uncles. Later in our lives some of us had the opportunity to visit with Edna at her home in Grafton, Ontario. Whether it was over a pot of tea that, by the way, was constantly on the stove where one would just add another tea bag throughout the day, or her famous roast beef dinner, Edna always made sure you felt at home. She loved nature and took pride in growing vegetables over the years. Russ and Edna loved their antique room where many stories were shared, made-up, and cited with an Irish twist. A beautiful life lived with a quick unexpected ending. RIP Edna xox - Brian, Diane, Wayne, Gerard, and Colleen
