Donna Marie Heeley (née Menzies) passed away peacefully on August 10, 2021, in her 66th year. She was born in Havelock, Ontario to the late Betty Jean Ann Menzies and Robert Leslie Menzies.
Predeceased by her mother, father, sister Brenda Marlaine Menzies, and brother Robert David Menzies, Donna is survived by the love of her life, Dale William Heeley, sister Jan Louise Gordon (Garry Gordon), brother Gordon Richard Menzies (Jodi Lynn Hackney), daughter Tanya Marie Thompson (Jay May), son William Richard Heeley, and son Eric Preston Clark. Donna will also be greatly missed by her sole grandchild, Ashley Ann-Marie Thompson (Christopher Chai), and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends, all of which she held dear.
Donna’s family wishes to recognize the staff of the Golden Plough Lodge and Northumberland Hills Hospital for their phenomenal work in ensuring her comfort in her final days, and MacCoubrey’s Funeral Home for their commendable assistance in honouring her memory. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
Donna loved to read, journal, write poetry and take pictures. No matter the state of the world or her health, she loved a good joke and always succeeded in making those around her laugh.
Although there will be no service, those wishing to honour Donna’s memory may do so by donating to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust which works to preserve populations of Donna’s favourite animal: the African elephant.

Donna .Òur families were always close growing up in Havelock then Cobourg.I remember one time you,Brenda and Bobby stayed over when we lived down Highway 30.We stayed up all night talking and laughing.Then we looked out the window and we saw something way up by Bob Rutherfords barn.Well we werent sure what it was.We Thought a hobo was sleeping up there then we thought it was a bear we imagined it was all kinds of things.Once it got daylight we realized it was just some bales of hay.lol That was just one story.We laughed alot over that.Say hi to AuntBetty Uncle Bob ,Brenda and Bob.RIP My dear cousin Donna Your cousin Sharon ❤
