Loving daughter of Dawn and Steve Shaw. Sister of Kylie and Emma Shaw. Granddaughter of Barry & Nancy Walters, and Gary & Maryanne Shaw. Niece of Mandee Walters (Jason Collins), Barry (Bear) & Laura Walters, Jody Walters, Betty Shaw, and Donny & Sue Shaw. Remembered by many cousins. Serena will be remembered by her carefree and energetic outlook on life. Serena was full of spunk, leaving a mark on everyone she touched. Serena loved fully and hard. A Celebration of Serena’s Life will be held at the Lion’s Community Centre 157 Elgin St E, Cobourg on Saturday September 18, 2021 from 1 to 5 pm. Donations may be made to Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention.

I felt like leaving this message as meeting serena was one of my core memories of my childhood. Thought I'd share to those who would like to read. I have not seen serena since I was very young. Since I was 11 or 12 years old. I am 23 now. Me and my siblings would spend a lot of time with the family. Serena was so energetic and fun to spend time with! We all would play outdoors and stay out for several hours! I remember the fun times and all the goofy stuff we all did as kids. It was very positive and fun. I will always remember those memories of all of us together. When my family moved out of Port hope we havint really connected since then. But from what I've seen online She grew up well, and followed her passion, and always cared about her family. I was very hurt to have heard about this news. Regardless of how many years has passed. She will always be remembered by me.
Serena you meant so much to my grandparents Betty and Claire. As well as many others at the home. Thoughts and prayers to your friends and family 🙏

Hello, I did not know Serena but I am sitting in my sunroom reading all about Serena and the wonderful girl she was thinking of others first before herself, as I read about her I see the light in her eyes and the beautiful smile and will remember Serena what she unselfishly gave to this world young and older people. She was always very creative and took pride in her baking skills. The results were always delicious! She was very kind and willing to help others and was able to pick up work related tasks very quickly and efficiently. I had the pleasure of mentoring Serena during some volunteer hours at Streamway. For Serena's family : I worked at the Buttermilk Cafe with Serena. She was a hard worker , great company , and a strong girl. I am saddened to hear of her passing and I wish you nothing but quick healing. Please know she touched so many people.
I am an elderly man of 66. She stopped a couple of times to check on me . I told her not to bother but I was so charmed by her demeanour that I wanted her to continue. I am sad that I will not see her again

I have known Serena since she came to work at Hillsdale. She quickly became an amazing companion to my 98 year old mother. She helped fill those sad hours during covid. They became buddies. They loved each other. She started a craft program and made the residents all artists! She made a garden with Mom and they both loved watching it grow. She shared so much of who she was.. she talked about her jeep.. her home, and especially her family. I couldn't have asked for a better companion for Mom. She made such a difference. I remember Serena from St.Joes, Serena was so full of spirit, and goodness! The one thing that always rang true was her devotion to her friends, she was a peacemaker who wanted everyone to feel included. All of Serena’s family and friends are in my thoughts right now ❤️
