So sad to see you go. Two years ago you drove the bus for a ladies night and it was the best night. You made the bus trip more with your witty comments, laughter and all around great personality. Rest In Peace Wendy.

Sending my sincere condolences to Wendy’s boys, grandkids and family. Wendy was fearless! I can’t tell you how relieved I always was when the sports bus or trip bus pulled up at TCS and it was Wendy driving! She could get us through anything!! The last time she drove me and a group of kids, she came through a snowstorm during the outbreak of COVID all the way up to Cochrane to make sure we could get home to our families as the world shut down around us. I could always tell from her stories how important family was to Wendy. Thinking of you all.

Wendy was a truly wonderful woman! She was one of my first bus drivers in elementary school at st Mary’s in port hope. She always made me feel comfortable as a young shy kid. One of her sons ended up moving onto the same court in port hope as my parents, I would see her from atime to time and she would always stop her big white truck and say hello and ask how I was and what I was doing. People like Wendy don’t exist any more, she was a genuinely kind soul who has a incredible ability to connect with so many people. I send love and care to the all of the family!

My deepest sympathy to Wendy’s family. I knew Wendy through TCS for 19 years. No one could keep discipline on a school bus like Wendy. She was respected and loved by all! Students could choose to travel four hours by coach…but when they realized they would not have Wendy, they chose the yellow school bus to be with her. Wendy loved showing photos of her grandchildren; she was a very proud grandmother! She was a terrific person and shall be sorely missed.

Such a loss - so much sympathy to your family. Wendy was one in a million; so dedicated to her work, making every student's day when they saw that "we got Wendy!" She was a wonderful person who took the greatest care of all of us whether she was driving the students out to the farm for their riding lessons or driving the teams or groups to their competitions or meetings. My sincere condolences to Wendy's family. She was a truly special person and I had the pleasure of getting to know her as she drove TCS students and staff to sports and special events. She not only loved her job as a bus driver, she loved the students and was their most enthusiastic cheerleader and supporter. We always knew they were in the best hands if Wendy was behind the wheel. My own kids thought she was so awesome!! I also loved getting to know her family through the photos and stories she shared of her sons and grandchildren. She was so proud of them all! Wendy touched many lives, and will be missed by so many!

Many fond memories of sports teams bus rides with Wendy. She genuinely loved people and that is why she was so good at what she did. As a principal, I can guarantee that she had the respect of students and staff alike. Condolences to her family but you can be proud of the positive impact she had on so many people.

Wendy was a truly memorable woman. She always greeted you with a smile. She was my bus driver as an elementary student, and in high school often drove my various school teams to our games/races, etc. I was always excited to see Wendy driving- it immediately put me at ease and made me feel safe. We went to high school together and later on I would catch up with her when she would drive the bus for class trips when I was working for the school board. My deepest condolences on the passing of Wendy. I had the pleasure of knowing Wendy throughout my time at TCS as a student and later on as a coach. She was the consummate professional, always making sure that the drive went without a hitch. I got to know Wendy a little bit when I chaperoned some of the weekend trips at TCS when she was the bus driver. She was so friendly, helpful and kind. The students loved her and she always made a point to get to know them and find out how they were doing. I always felt like we were in very good hands when Wendy was our driver. I am very saddened to hear of her passing and my thoughts go out to her family and friends. She will be missed.

Wendy was surely one-of-a-kind with an infectious smile and laugh that I will never forget. I knew Wendy as a bus driver who did our schools runs and drove the charters for many school trips. It was always reassuring to know she was in charge of getting our students to and from school in such a professional, cheerful manner. Wendy loved her job and cared for the students, often cheering them on as she waited for the drive home. Condolences to her family at this difficult time.

Wendy was the most entertaining of special event bus drivers for TCS these many years. She genuinely loved the students and cared deeply about their successes and failures at the athletic contests that she so often drove them to. We all looked forward to a Wendy Nixon bus trip. She will be missed by so many in our community.

Reading about Wendy's passing was a shock! She must have driven my football teams at TCS for as long as I can remember- Wendy was such a kind, happy and nice person. She will certainly be missed.

On behalf of the staff and cadets of 116 Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps Skeena, Port Hope, ON, we offer our sincere condolences to Wendy's family. Many times she was our driver for our cadet trips, in fact she told us she would change assignments so she could drive for us. Over the years as it became more frequent, we called her our own personal driver and she always liked being with our cadets. She always enjoyed being with us as we enjoyed her being with us.
