Reanice Mary Frances Sullivan

August 1, 1932 - July 24, 2021

Reanice Sullivan … a lover of God and His Word, her family and those who crossed her path, was called home to be with her Saviour on the afternoon of Saturday, July 24th, 2021. Surrounded by her family at the Peterborough Regional Hospital, Reanice passed peacefully into heaven and is now rejoicing with Jesus and those family and friends who have gone on before. Fully healed, fully whole, fully loved. Reanice, who was affectionately referred to by many as ‘MéMé’, loved her family dearly and was known for her incredible hospitality; opening her door and offering a cup of coffee or a can of Pepsi and a piece of her famous fudge, sometime even to complete strangers. She loved being outdoors, feeding the birds … and squirrels, going for drives and indulging her sweet tooth. Reanice never wanted to miss out on whatever was happening and her presence always brought so much joy and laughter. She was truly a very loving and joy filled lady.

A loving Mother to Louise Newton (Ray) and Lynda Amyotte (Dominic); wonderful Grandmother to Richard LeBrun (Jessica), Michel LeBrun, Rebecca Amyotte, and Katherina Boshart (Jay) and adoring Great Grandmother to Clara (6), Geneva (4) and Elsie Boshart (3). Our Mom and MeMe is so deeply loved and missed.

Born in 1932 and raised on Calumet Island in Quebec, Reanice grew up with her three sisters and one brother (Olive, Shirley, Faye and Pat) and loved and cared for her family deeply. She was her daddy’s girl and even during her final years on this side of Heaven, her heart longed so very much to be reunited with her parents, Patrick Horace Sullivan and Francis Sullivan (nee Kensley), and her sisters Olive and Shirley, who had gone before.

Lynda, Louise, Rebecca, Faye, and all of Reanice's family & friends. I know we are all missing a shining light from our lives. Reanice carried the history of the Sullivan & Kensley families. Reanice was always so happy to see each person who was lucky enough to be family but as mentioned even strangers. Memories of Reanice were strong all my life from get together’s at home in the Ottawa Valley in Quebec. Imagine my joy to find out that Reanice had moved to Cobourg. The 1st. Time I went to visit & drove into the driveway a half a field from where she & Rebecca were sitting….I heard Reanice say…..I know it is a Kensley I am just trying to figure out which one…. Always smiling, laughing, greeting one & all. Loosing so many ….I keep focused on what a joyous, time in heaven with all those who are together again with Louis Kensley leading the band playing the fiddle. Reanice everyone was so lucky to have known & loved you. Thanks for your love & caring of a life well lived, you will always be loved & remembered.

Dear Louise, Linda and Families. We are deeply saddened by the passing of your beloved Mother. Aunt Reanice was a Very Special Lady. She has left us with some great memories that we will cherish forever. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. May She Rest In Peace.

MURRAY GRIFFIN - August 1, 2021

Dear Family. May God be your comfort and peace. Although I have known Reanice for many years she graced Legion Village with her shining light and happy disposition. When I told her friends in the new dining room I started with the lady who now resides in 144. So many have commented on the wonderful caring family. We are jealous in a good way. My fam is in the three corners of the world and they have promised to come to my funeral. The picture of Reanice says it all. Heaven will be laughing all the more when she tells them what her name rhymes with.
