After a valiant struggle with declining health Carol Ann (nee Kemp) passed away peacefully on Saturday May 8th at age 81. Although she would have loved more time with her beloved Don, her body was weak from years of medical procedures and pain management. Till the end Carol was known for her sharp mind – a sharpness that helped her compete in Life Master Bridge tournaments in past years. As a child she gleefully swam in the Trent River next to her hometown of Frankford, Ontario. She gave a similar gift to her children who swam in the Gulf of St Lawrence during their years of living in Prince Edward Island. Close relatives include siblings: Dean (Donna), pre-deceased by her sister Heather, Wayne (Sue); children: Deana (Rick), Heather, Ritchie, Robert (Sean); grandchildren: Tasha, Victor, Travis, Sam, Roger, Gatrey; great grandchild: Trinity. During travel and relocation Carol made lasting friendships and kept these alive with frequent letters, phone calls and visits with Don at her side. Their home was open to friends, relatives, exchange students and even the occasional hitchhiker as a place of rejuvenation and sometimes solace. Food, comfort, and welcome were always in great supply at their home and support was often given to youth seeking direction and guidance. A celebration of life will take place at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home Saturday, June 18, 2022 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM. To keep this sentiment alive please donate in Carols’ memory to Covenant House (covenanthousetoronto.ca) or to a charity of your choice.

We enjoyed meeting Carol Ann and Don when we moved to Palisade Gardens. She was a very friendly and outgoing lady! We especially enjoyed chatting at "Happy Hour" (Carol Ann... is what she asked to be called.... only drank Cranberry Juice!)
