Linda Moore

May 28, 1949 - May 7, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Moore (nee Darling), after a brief illness, at the Bruyere Hospital in Ottawa with her daughter by her side. Linda was born in Port Hope, Ontario to the late Norman Darling and late Annie Cadzow Campbell Reid. She will be lovingly remembered by her sisters, Norma Wright (Randy), Diane McDonald (Paul) and Lorraine Manley (Tom) and many nieces and nephews.

Linda’s greatest accomplishments were her children, Katrina and Ryan (Lauren). She especially loved her role as “Nana” to Connor, Jamison, Callan and Deryn and she sought to instill in them a sense of adventure and pass along to them her love of music and art. She will be fondly remembered by Garry Moore and the extended Moore family.

Linda graduated from the Toronto College of Nurses and began a lifelong nursing career working in Cobourg and Peterborough. She was well known for her professionalism and compassion by both her colleagues and patients. She later travelled to BC where she lived for a time and often had many stories of living in the “North Country”. She eventually moved to Ottawa to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren.

Due to the ongoing pandemic there will be no service at this time. A celebration of Linda’s life will be held in Port Hope, hopefully in summer 2021, once restrictions are lifted.

The family asks that you spend time with your children, take a walk on the beach with your loved ones, and make a toast to enduring friendships, lifelong and beyond. That is what Linda would wish.

I am so sorry to hear about Linda. I worked with her at the Cobourg District General Hospital she was a good friend and a awesome nurse❤️One memory I can share about Linda was the night we were together and we had a bad ice storm!!! So your mother suggested I stay at your house on Havelock Street. We walked home down James street it was scary as trees were snapping! I didn’t sleep very well that night because of storm or it might of been you or your brother were awake in night crying!! I haven’t seen Linda in a long time but I will remember her as a dear friend❤️
