It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our mother Rosemarie Alice Sheldrick (nee Amirault), wife of the late Ellis Sheldrick. She leaves behind her three children Valerie (Neil), Eric (Tracey), Julie (Keith). Grandchildren Josh (Amanda), Jess (Matt), Jade (Mik), Ryan, Tyson, Taylor, Samuel, Maxwell and Sarah along with multiple great grandchildren. Mom was fortunate to always have her family close to home with her. She was a stay at home mom and looked after things while dad was a long haul truck driver. That gave her the opportunity to be active in the community and participate in volunteering with many different organizations. She was very proud of her Acadian Nova Scotia roots where seven of her siblings and their families still reside. Claude (Eileen), Robert (Irene), Louie (late Anita), Rachel (late George), Arnold (Bonnie), Geraldine (Freeman), Michael (Gretchen) and pre-deceased by Alphonse and Leonce (Cassie). Remembered by many nieces and nephews. Mom had a courageous battle with cancer and passed peacefully with us by her side. A memorial mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Grafton, on Saturday February 20th at 11 am. Please RSVP by clicking on the box to the left (Memorial Mass RSVP). Dear Valerie, Eric and Julie I am so sorry to hear about Aunt Rosemarie passing away. I have such fond memories of going to your house to hang out (which usually turned into a sleepover!). Your mom was such a no-nonsense kind of person, welcoming, had a great sense of humour, as did your dad with his "Cheeky devils squeezes!" When I stayed there I remember her offering us anything in the kitchen, but with the caveat that we were to make it ourselves and not wait for her to wait on us :) I hope your families will continue on with courage and happy memories. As a student at Colborne High School we all knew Ellis and his mother who was a wonderful Bus Driver and in those days the drivers were allowed to smoke while driving. When Rose took a project and/or cause on, she was unstoppable. She loved our community and was a fierce champion of her family and friends. Smart as a whip. Heckuva a laugh, too!
Awwww. My heart sunk when I saw this. So many great conversations with her especially when Ellis was sick. Enjoyed working with her with the CWL. I will miss her frankness and sense of humour. The Tim Hortons gang won’t be the same without her. She and Ellis were loved by many. I’m so very sorry.

My heartfelt sadness at your mom's death. I was her Parish Priest from 2011-2020 in Grafton. Rose was a good, no-nonsense lady who spoke her mind, a refreshing trait! I liked her deeply. Her patience and Faith during her illness is a lesson for me. God Bless all of you--she is now united with her Good Shepherd, and re-united with Ellis.
