I'm so sorry to hear of Don's passing. We were both two year men in completing grade 13 at West Hill C.I. and had particular trouble with geometry. To solve this problem in year 2 we developed a new study technique involving beer drinking to learn the geometry theorems. Unfortunately, we must have got a bad batch of Red Cap because our results were again abysmal..... but we had fun trying. Rest in peace Don. Doug Martin

I am so sorry and saddened to hear about Don. I first came to know Don through the Northumberland Parkinson's Chapter, and through the Parkinson's SuperWalk. Don was a wonderful man, and I knew that from the moment I met him. He had a fantastic sense of humour, was kind, thoughtful, considerate, and most of all welcoming. He was a dynamo at fundraising and he always came with a wonderful entourage of his family and friends to the SuperWalk. With Don, you got to know a great guy as well as the added bonus of getting to know his incredible family and support network. To Don's family, I am very sorry for your loss and cannot begin to imagine the void left behind - but the fantastic memories and stories, I am sure there are lots!

David Borthwick - February 9, 2021

Sincere condolences and best wishes to Anna and the family. Don, (little Newt), took a lot of good natured ribbing from us all because of his father's prominent place in the community of Highland Creek. I remember, one time coming back from Club Cedar dances in his Dad's car (I believe a De Soto), and he took that old hump-back bridge on Markham Rd. a little too fast. I believe I left a skull print on the car roof that day. He will be sorely missed .... a great guy!! Dave Borthwick Class of '59 - Retired Pharmacist.
