In her 71st year Sandra passed away peacefully in her home with her daughters by her side. She lived her life with determination, independence, and grace. Sandra will be fondly remembered by family, friends, and neighbours.
Sandra was the beloved daughter of Art and Eileen Turner and was survived by her two daughters Samantha and Melissa and four grandchildren Abigail, Natalie, Cameron and Blake. She will also be lovingly remembered by Ray, Diane and Linda.
A private graveside service will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Scarborough. Donations can be made in Sandra’s honour to the Northumberland Hills Hospital.
The family would like to thank Saint Elizabeth Nurses, Palliative Care Nurses at Northumberland Hills Hospital and Dr Mule who provided exceptional care.

Ray, I am so sorry deeply saddened for your loss. I am so shocked to see this and just saw this now. I was trying to find her and get in touch. You may not remember me, but Sandra and I were best friends at Monarch Park SS. I remember the day you walked into our classroom and Sandra looked at you, then me, then back to you. She said, 'I will be going out with him, you watch!'. We were at your wedding and she was so unbelievably happy and was the most beautiful bride. I hope that this message gets to you. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers at this very sad time. Take care.

Sorry for your loss. I have worked with Sandra at Fleming. Whenever our work related discussion was over, it quickly turned to family. She always smiled and laughed when talking about her grandchildren. She loved her family. We will all miss her.
Sandra and I were colleagues at Fleming College. I had the honour and pleasure of working with her for a few years, and I was always impressed by her knowledge and her dedication to her students. Dear Samantha, Melissa and Families, We were all very saddened to hear of your Moms' passing. Peter always looked forward to Sandras' visits where they quite often "fixed all that was wrong with the world". We will miss her sense of humour and her no-nonsense views on many different topics. I knew Sandra only in the past year or so as another Rockingham dog walker. And when she wasn't walking with her dogs, I was impressed by -- and maybe a little intimidated by -- her discipline and determination running and walking the way she did to stay well toned and in shape. It was obvious that only the severity of her illness could slow her down. My heart goes out to her daughters and the rest of her family on her passing. God bless you and keep you through these difficult days.
Sandra was always asking how Bill was and our granddaughter loved going over to see Millie. Her discipline in fast walking every day impressed me a lot. What a great lady.
