Elizabeth Lillian "Lilly" Gill

April 20, 1927 - July 22, 2020

Peacefully at the Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg on Wednesday, July 22nd, 2020, Lilly Gill at 93 years of age. Predeceased by her parents and siblings. Survived by her nieces Betty Gill, Shirley Robinson, nephews John Gill, Norman Gill and great-niece Stephanie Bonafe. Also missed by her dear friend Adaline Evelyn, Pamela Evelyn, Evelyn family and many friends. A Funeral Service will be held at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King Street East (please use Swayne Street parking lot entrance) in Cobourg on Saturday, August 1st, at 2 pm with visitation for one hour prior to the service. Due to Covid restrictions there is a maximum number of people allowed so you must RSVP by email to contact@maccoubrey.com or by phone to (905) 372-5132 if you wish to attend. Those wishing may make a memorial donation to a charity of choice.

I remember Lilly when she was a volunteer at Trinity United Church at the Mom's and Tot's group Tuesday(?) mornings. she was a lovely lady and made our time in the group so enjoyable. We always got a warm hello if any of us Moms met her on the street. A volunteer extraordinaire.

Lilly was an amazing lady. I had many great chats with her. I visited her regularly when she was at the apartment - and saw her again at Cobourg Retirement. One of the things I remember her telling me that she was the first "black" person in Cobourg ... She was lovely. Jayne Psw

Lilly was a warrior . She had a difficult Life but strove to better herself wiih adult education courses. She loved her Toronto family and they her. Lily, I will miss your beautiful smile. We formed a bond at Cobourg Retirement Residence and I loved you Lilly Gill !
