JACOBS, Maria Adrianna Francesca (nee Luyben) – Peacefully at her home on Saturday, July 11, 2020, in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Hendricus. Loving mother of Peter and Coralee. Maria was predeceased by her 12 siblings. An interment will be held at Bible Christian Cemetery, Plainville. Donations to Cornerstone Centre would be appreciated by the family.
Mary has been both Mom and Omma to many over the years.
Quick witted, sharp tongued and honest to a fault.
Mary had a giving soul. For many years she was AKALA to the young boys
at the first Gore’s Landing Wolf Cub Scouts; a position that she enjoyed immensely and laboured at tirelessly.
Mary enjoyed many years working with her friend at Herma’s....
always sure to spark up a lively conversation , some raised eyebrows and much laughter.
Mary enjoyed a game of cards and throwing darts. Competitive yes.
But mom always said that it didn’t matter if you win or lose, so long as you had fun and tried your best.
Time moves along, and one day they will come a time that you can no longer do all of the things that you once enjoyed.
When those days came for Mary, she picked up her trusty knitting needles
and spent years making baby clothes. Hats, mittens, socks , sweaters and dress ensembles.
Each one a work of art and a labour of love ; derived from imagination and driven
by the joy of knowing that a little baby somewhere in the world was cozy and warm.
To her last day with us, Mary was working on a pair of socks.
Most of all, Mary loved her two children Peter and Coralee and has been the moral foundation
on which they grew. By doing and living what she preached,
she taught us what it is to be a good person. To live with good intention and pure motive.
It seemed effortless to mom, very natural, just a way of life.
Mom, we loved you when you were here. We could have loved you more.
We love you even more now that you are gone.
You persevered mother; through the hardships of war and loss.
ou did not stray, you stayed the course. You lived as God intended.
Be at eternal peace mother, for you have earned the right.
Love always and forever.
Dear Coralee and Peter. Joel and I a very sorry for you loss. Your mom was such a grand character. Take comfort in your great memories. I still have some of her amazing socks!! I am so sorry we missed the funeral. Our sincere condolences. Love Val and Joel.
Coralee and Pete, I am so sorry to hear about your mom, I have many great memories of her, she was an amazing woman who always put me in my place. Also, the only person who had the patience to teach me how to knit. I will never forgot how proud I was of my first pair of socks! My thoughts and prayers are with you guys. Love you

Dear Coralee and Pete Your parents have been a part of the Klein Nienhuis family for a lot of years and a wonderful part . Both couples having immigrated from Holland about the same time and then became friends here. I became acquainted with the Jacobs family when I started dating the Klein’s oldest son. Ben and I enjoyed a lot of cups of coffee and visiting Hank and Riet. Also enjoyed house boating on Rice Lake. I always enjoyed their company and then Riet friendship after Hank passed on. Now we are enjoying Pete and Coralee company as they have grown up into great adults I will miss your wit and advice. God bless you. Thanks for being you🥰
So very sorry for your loss. Mary was quite a character. I have many memories of Mary from when I was a child. She provided cared for my grandmother until 2005 She left a big impact on this earth
