Thomasin Element - June 17, 2020

I was deeply saddened to hear of Ita's passing. Ita had a big impact on me during a pivotal time in my life. I'll never forget everything Ita did to grow our pony club and its teams, in particular for PPG, D-Rally and Tetrathalon. Ita was always so supportive of me, lending me horses, trailering my horses and giving me rides and a place to sleep so that I could pursue my passion. Those competitions are some of my best memories. I remember the Pattersons as such a loving, close and fun family and am so sorry for their loss. Love Thomasin

Lenora Neil - June 17, 2020

Ita,was not only my friend. She was my rock. She always knew exactly what to say to me. She knew when I was down. She would just give that beautiful smile with her little quirk in her eye knod her head to come for a walk. She taught me so many life lessons at work and during our private times with our families. She cherished her family time. Never wanting her time with her family interrupted by work. She would at times just pick up the phone call, me to say that I was on her mind. There really are no words to express how much Ita meant to me. She truly was an amazing woman. As an RN you couldn't ask for a better nurse to work along side of. She was a wonderful mother always telling me about her four girls. I recall her telling me about Jenna making a graduation dress for her sister. Ita's eyes just sparkled. Oh how proud she was. She would talk often about her girls going into competition riding their horses. The Royal Winter Fair (4h club) were exhausting for her but she would never let the girls know. How she looked forward to going back and forth to Toronto. Just seeing her girls riding in competition was well worth it. This lady was the epitome of a nurse, mother and most importantly a wife to her beloved Don. It is with great sadness that I am writing this. I love you Ita Patterson you will forever be in my heart my cherished friend. Lenora Neil

Don, Jenna, Sarah, Leah and Kaylen. Words won’t ever be enough when talking about Ita. She was an awesome role model for us girls and I always and will Always respect her. She, was a great help for my mom As mom knew nothing about horses and she taught my mom how to be a “horse mom”. Ita will always feel like a second mom to me as she took the role when needed. I’ll miss her and I know she’s so proud of you girls. She raised strong independent women and in that way, her legacy will live on.

Don, I am heartbroken to hear about Ita. I am so sorry. I'll never forget the day she offered to deliver our maple syrup order to the house, and when she got here she found me frantically trying to wrap the kids' Christmas gifts before they got home from school. I had just run out of tape, and she, without hesitation, drove home and came back minutes later with a brand new role of tape for me. I will never forget that simple yet significant act of kindness and how in that moment she made me feel so proud to be a part of this community. I feel so blessed to have met her. Sending our love.
