Dwight Beer

September 26, 1957 - April 13, 2020

It is with heavy hearts we say "see you later" to Dwight.....forever 62.
Much loved son of Millie & Bud (predeceased). Proud dad to Eric and loved brother of Ken (predeceased)(Marli), Garth (Susan) & Michael (predeceased). Always cherished and connected to Veronica Derry. Remembered as the uncle with stories to tell and treasures to share by his nephews Stewart & Graham. Life long friend of Chip Chapman.
Dwight loved being on his land, in the woods, in his garden, building/renovating, hunting, fishing, fossil hunting, cooking and sharing meals and special occasions with friends and family. He was equally at ease with his own company as he was in the company of others.
Always generous, always curious, always learning and generally living life his way.
He will be missed by numerous friends who shared his passions. ….and who are now sharing stories of past adventures, mishaps and so many memories of this dear man who lived life fully, passionately, with zeal and good humour.
Those wishing may make a memorial donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority.
A celebration of Dwight's life will be at a later date.

Sincere condolences to Dwight’s family & friends. So nice to see warm memories of Dwight. I moved to the area a couple of years ago and met Dwight on a construction site in Cobourg. I can tell you all that he was a source of information, good will and humour. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t tackle.....all with that big smile so many of you mention. He talked a lot about that property north of Cobourg. I went there a couple times to help him with something and we laughed when I said it looked like Sandford & Son’s, an old TV sitcom. He’d bellow out, “I’m gonna build an 8 room bed & breakfast here. I have access to cross country ski trails and snowmobiling in the winter, and hunting & fishing in the summer”. “You help me with it and I’ll bring my heavy equipment down to your place to do your landscaping”. You know, you don’t have to know a person very long to appreciate their love of family, humour and appreciation of nature. Rest well my friend, I’ll miss that big smile.

Ruth Caffin - April 18, 2020

Our condolences to the family. Everything that Dwight was...kind, humorous, adventurous and knowledgeable... He will live on in the hearts of family and friends. We will miss him but never forget him. Rest In Peace Dwight. Paul, Keith & Chris, Ruth Maisonville

Dwight is one of my older cousins. I well remember the many good times at the old Beer homestead of playing hide and seek, Frisbee throwing and baseball. I remember his stories about the old house. Given that I am the oldest brother in my family, older cousins like Dwight (as well as Garth and Kenny) were like stand-in older brothers. Rest well Dwight.
