Amanda Christina Brady-Mercer

October 16, 1999 - April 9, 2020

Amanda went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Thursday, April 9, 2020, at 20 years of age. Cherished daughter of Melissa Brady and the late Kevin Brady. Devoted granddaughter of Paul and Bonnie Mercer and John and Margaret MacLeod. Great granddaughter of Diane Mercer. Dear niece of Drew Mercer (Amy), Blair Mercer (Angela), Johnny Brady (Cathy), Steven Brady, Paula Mordue (John), Mike Brady (Jennifer), Betty Navarrete (Mario) along with a loving, large extended family and friends who adopted her as family.
Amanda was determined to live life to the fullest and was always up for an adventure despite her very serious heart condition since birth. She had a quiet strength. She never complained about her life situations, instead, focused her mind on activities that touched her heart and brought her and others joy. She loved children, dogs, zoos, Canada’s Wonderland, camping, travel, photography, stuffed animals, arcade games, all things Disney, surprizes, bright hair colour, balloons, swimming, Sick Kid’s Nurses & Child Life Specialists, musicals, Pokemon, turtles, Olaf, pandas, golf-cart rides, church nursery, Great Wolf Lodge, flip flops, heart shapes, princess tiaras, pedicures, fancy nails, Ripley’s Aquarium, Ethan, Abby, Zoe, Elizabeth, Gilmour Girls and mostly her Mom with whom she had a Lorelai/ Rory relationship. She had a gentle spirit and was a generous giver of one of the rarest gifts- her attention. If you had the honor of knowing her, you loved her.
The family would like to thank everyone involved in her care and treatment at Toronto Sick Kids and the Toronto General Hospital and are forever grateful to Ronald McDonald House in London and Toronto. As well as Starlight Foundations for their generosity. Also for God’s army of prayer warriors- Pastors and friends from all over the world who never stopped praying and supporting Amanda in her life journey.
A private interment will take place at the Heritage Cemetery of St. Peter. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Those wishing may make a memorial donation to Sick Kids, Mission Eurasia Canada, or the charity of your choice.

Dear Melissa, Bonnie and Paul, and all the Mercer and Brady families, From everything I have seen posted about Amanda, both recently and throughout her lifetime, it is clear to me that she was an inspiration to all who met and got to know her. What I want you to know is that she was also an inspiration to those who have only heard about her but have never met her - people that were asked to pray, who followed her story, who saw the radiant pictures of your treasured girl. She lived life to the full, and she lived it for Jesus. I know you are rejoicing about that, even while grieving the immense loss. You all are, and will continue to be, in our thoughts and prayers.

Irene & Dave Rose - April 14, 2020

Melissa - we are so sorry for the loss of your beloved Amanda. My family loved her and Kayla is having a difficult time. Amanda always promised she would do my hair in her neat pink color because she knew how much I liked pink but she always laughed when I would remind her I was too old! If you ever need anything connect me at the email address above - the same goes for Leigh Ann and her family. May God continue to bless you and know that Amanda had a wonderful life - you made sure of that. Amanda will always be the brightest star when you look up to heaven.
