John Frederick Jolie

I was just talking about highschool experiences with my wife and decided to search Mr Jolie and am saddened by the news of his death. His passion as a teacher left a mark with me. He startled me once by jumping onto his file cabinet while proclaiming the atrocities of WW2. Got my attention. RIP

Jim and I wish to send our heartfelt condolences to the family members- siblings, children and grand children. I know John will be missed greatly. He was of course my moms favorite - her first God child! He always seemed to be a gentle spirit to me. Our hope is of course that he has been received into eternal life and reunited with Darlene and family there....only peace. We are sorry to hear of his passing ... too soon.

My deepest condolences to John's loved ones. I had many conversations with John about history and genealogy at the library. He had a great sense of humour and he'll be missed.

Such a sad day for all who knew Mr. Jolie. He will always be remembered as one of those teachers that left a lasting impression on his students. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time of great sorrow.

Mr. Jolie was my teacher in high school. He was always so nice to me and was always smiling and happy to be at school.He will be missed by many. Always in our hearts.

Our sincere condolences to the family. We enjoyed teaching with John at the East. He was a wealth of information regarding the history of our house on Division Street with many anecdotes. Because John was also a traveller we had fun sharing travel stories.

Sorry for your Loss. I only worked for a few years with John at the East, but long enough to gain tremendous respect for John as a teacher, a friend, and a person of strong values and ethics.

I regret the loss of John . We had many chats when we met in the mornings we were walking and I visited him a couple of times at Rosewood. He had a great interest in his fellow man.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. The Jolies were our wonderful neighbours on Glidden Avenue for our growing-up years. John was always someone we looked up to, with his calm demeanour and good sense of humour.

To the family of John,I just want you to know that his work on the local history of this area was much appreciated by many people. I have enjoyed much of his work eg the collection of papers on the town of Cobourg and countless Today in History clippings.I was privileged to have a few conversations with him as well. Such a gentle excitement about learning he shared. I am so sorry for your loss and wish you all the best.

Sorry for your loss.I had many teachers over the 5 years I went to the East High.Mr. Jolie is one that I will always remember.Out in the hall between classes saying his hellos and always had some venturesome stories to tell.
