Peacefully on December 19, 2019 at Regency Manor in his 89th year, Henk was called home to glory by his Heavenly Father. Beloved husband of 58 years to Jannie. Loving father of Janet Deaville (Chris), Nancy Prins (Gerard), Joanne Benschop (Matt), Wilma Miedema (predeceased), and son-in-law Jake Miedema (Tammy). Adored and fun loving Opa to 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Predeceased by siblings Job, Johanna and John, and survived by Marg and Bill. The family would like to thank the staff at Regency Manor for their love, care, and support given to Henk over the last 2 years. We are truly grateful. Visitation will be held at MacCoubrey Funeral Home 30 King St. E., Cobourg on Sunday December 22, 2019 from 2 to 5 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at Grace Christian Reformed Church 440 King St. E., Cobourg on Monday December 23, 2019 at 11 a.m.. Interment at Cobourg Union Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Northumberland Christian School.
Henk touched the hearts of many at Regency. That smile, personality, and his most gentle side will be missed by myself at Regency. His Love will be carried on in those who knew him.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I just read of Henk's passing in the paper. The last few years when I dropped off the calendar and did not see him tinkering in the garage, I wondered how they are doing. My condolences to the family.Deb
