MESSAGES OF CONDOLENCE / DONATIONS

Kevin McDonnell - July 19, 2020

Dear Anne , Amy and Ross It is with heavy heart I send you my condolences. I recently heard about Richards passing. I haves moved to NB and am out of touch with the old world. Richard and I shared a work station for 17 years. We had lunches and coffee breaks together every day. We did business road trips together and worked together for a short period in Whitby. I am sure we shared over 1 million laughs together!!!! We were so different and yet inseparable. He was like a big brother to me. He thought me so much. He was a big part of my life Kevin Kevin.mcdonnell514@gmail.com

Adom H. Boudjikanian - June 24, 2020

Dear Ann, Amy and Ross, It was yesterday that I heard about Richard's passing, by the former Ciba employee Reuben. I worked with Richard and Kevin in the pharma development lab, as a development pharmacist from 1991 to 1998, when the lab was closed and Richard migrated to Oshawa. We had differences in approaches concerning technical matters, wherein Richard defended his ways passionately. But that apart, he helped me a lot, as a freshly immigrated Armenian to "acclimatise" (mentally and physically) with the Canadian ways/climate . In particular, he initiated me to the usage of computers, in wherein he was excellent. He even a few instances came home (at DDO) to set up our family computer or explain why it was not going as it was supposed. He would counsel to walk backwards, when the freezing wind was coming from the front! Being a real Christian, he lived the "love thy neighbour" in his daily life. Sometimes, when he was late to the lab in the morning, our manager Hansruedi Siegrist asked him the reason, Richard would say "I was helping the neighbour fixing the roof". I still remember his "Shakespearean" dilemma in the lab: "to go or not to go" (to Oshawa) when Ciba Montreal was closing down in 1998. I am confident our Lord will help the process of healing, keeping you always with Richard's best memories. I stay sincerely your's Adom and Aida
