Peacefully, with his family by his side at the Northumberland Hills Hospital, Cobourg on Thursday, April 4th, 2019 in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Kathryne O’Neill (nee MacMillan). Loving father of Arlis (Rod), Shane (Rhonda), Eirin (Paul) and Tricia (Greg). Dear grandfather of Ryan (Christina), Ana (Will), Troy (Erin), Jamie, Shawn, Josh (Blessie), James, Lacey (Kyle), Melissa (Richard) and the late Marty. Proud great grandfather of Lily, Edward, Grace, Marion, Nicholas, James, Connor, Jeffrey, Nathan and Mason. Brother of Lois Simpson (late Lawrence), and Bob O’Neill (the late Olive). Norm will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend a celebration of Norm’s life at the Colborne Legion on Saturday April 13th from 1-4 pm. We are so sorry for your loss. Although we have lost touch over the years, we have never forgotten the great years we shared at the East. We have wonderful memories of Norm. A true gentleman, a fantastic teacher, and a caring colleague.

I have always fondly remembered Norm, Mr O'Neil as I first knew him in high school, but later Norm as a friend. I have such great memories of his math classes, cadets and his way of explaining the difficult math problems that made them easier to understand. Trish, we are so sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing. We had many great conversations with him over the years and some chuckles as Paul fondly remembered your father trying to teach him math in grade 12....it might have helped if Paul actually attended class more often.
