Loving husband of the late Joyce Graham (nee Robinson), passed away peacefully at Extendicare Lakefield on Friday, March 1, 2019 at the age of 95. George leaves behind his daughter Glenna MacLeod (Bob), son David (Pam), grandchildren Kelly (Darren), Jaime (Kiley), Daniel, James (Breigh) and Kelly as well as great grandchildren Sydney, Olivia, Beck and Kyleigh. He is also lovingly remembered by family in his birthplace of Donaghadee, Northern Ireland. George was a World War II veteran who served in the Canadian Air Force. He was immensely proud of his bookbinding business, G.M. Graham & Co. and the family of lifelong friends established there. A cremation has taken place and the Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday March 10 from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King Street East, Cobourg, Ontario. In lieu of flowers donations in George’s memory to the Sick Kids Foundation or The Salvation Army would be appreciated.
My parents were friends with George and Joyce. Going through my Dad's photos, I found some pictures of my Dad and George sailing years ago. My much belated condolences to the family.
I sailed with George on Irish Wake maybe twenty years ago. We remember the gathering in Hamilton when he had the flight on the Lancaster. Many good memories of George. He will be missed.Steve and Becky Brown
George was one of the loveliest people I have ever known. He was a fabulous father-in-law and grandfather (papa) to my boys. You will be remembered.
So sorry to hear about George's passing. He was a great friend and always quick with a smile. He loved his family and sailing. You will be missed.
Glenna and David, our dear George has gone off to sail the seas of Ireland, and bike the roads and do all the wonderful things he loved to do - I had sent an email to you Glenna a few months back wondering about your Dad - I and my boys have the very fondest memories of your mom and dad - they were grandparents to my guys, and just like parents and more importantly dear friends to me - I will always remember how sad I was when they left Henry street - we always used to have such wonderful times, but it didn't stop us - I loved them both so very much, and I want you to know I will be thinking of you and if I could get down Sunday I would - I am in Collingwood now and not sure if I would be able to get there but know how much we adored them both - just the most dearest people in the world,big hugs to you both and here's to George making it to 95!!! Heartfelt sorrow at the loss of my dear cousin “Geordie”. I have many fond memories of all the happy times spent with George in Donaghadee. Dearest love to all his family in Canada from his cousin Jean and family in Northern Ireland.
