Karen Connell, on the morning of Saturday January 5, 2019, died quietly at Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg after a short battle with cancer. She is lovingly survived by her only child Stacy Connell and her husband David. Karen is also survived by her two beloved grandchildren, Nicholas and Megan Adlam, who had the pleasure of living with their grandmother for the past 8 years and sharing their lives together. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Bob Connell. Karen was one of 8 siblings - brothers Bob, David, Norman (predeceased), Jim and Bruce Rennie, sisters Barbara Lalor and Elaine Garbutt, and their spouses and their children. Barb, Bruce and Elaine, and spouses Jim, Sharron and Terry, were very close throughout her life and were always there for weekend chats, random drives to unknown places, as travel partners and most important to her - for wonderful family Christmases. Daughter, Stacy Connell, extends her deepest respect and thanks to all the staff in the Palliative Care unit and the girls in Food Services at Northumberland Hills Hospital! Mom appreciated your tender care and attention and the smiles you brought her during the time that she spent with you. Condolences can be sent to MacCoubrey Funeral Home in Cobourg (www.MacCoubrey.com). Other remembrance options can be chosen by friends, such as donations to the Palliative Care unit at Northumberland Hills Hospital. Karen would request that you take the time to spend with your loved ones and to have a toast on her behalf to family and friends!
