Dorothy Rose Kowalec

April 18, 1925 - December 29, 2018

Peacefully at Extendicare Cobourg on December 29th, 2018 in her 94th year.  Born Steyning England, April 18th, 1925 – daughter of the late William & Mary Gardner-Stanbridge of England.  Pre-deceased by her husband Mike Kowalec and granddaughter Susan Selzer.  Mother of Mary Johann (David), Shirley Selzer (Bruce), Robert Linton (Barbara), Vernabelle Hardy (Sylvester), Patricia Lennan and Garth Linton (Vashti).   Survived by 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.  Dorothy was known as D.K. from the Dutch Oven, the Jam Lady or Grandma Dorothy to her many friends.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday January 12th, 2019 from 1-4 pm. in the MacCoubrey Funeral Home Reception Centre, 30 King Street East, Cobourg, with words of remembrance at 2 pm.  Interment in Cobourg Union Cemetery at a later date.  If desired donations may be made to the Northumberland Humane Society, Shelter of Hope or Alzheimer Society.  The family would like to thank all the staff at Extendicare Cobourg and Dr. Nearing and his staff for all their care and love.  Condolences received at www.MacCoubrey.com.
