Peacefully, at the Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg on Sunday, December 9, 2018, David Kerr at 77 years of age. Beloved husband of the late Jean Kerr (Pearson), loving father of Laurie Kerr (Gil Jenkins) and Dana Kerr (Sarah Strange). Cherished grandfather of Max and Rowan. Son of the late Frederick and Gladys (Toots) Kerr (McMann). Brother of Cork (Corinne) Newhouse (Harry) and the late Ronald Kerr. Dave will be missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins. In the past 4 years, Dave was fortunate to expand his family to include his partner Dianne Kellar and was welcomed into her family, creating wonderful memories from Maynooth to Mexico. A Cobourg boy, through and through, Dave was well known for his years in the car business, his restaurant ‘Lighthouse Fish & Chips’, and his time at Rusco Windows & Doors. An avid sailor, Dave was awarded a LifeTime Membership to the Cobourg Yacht Club, running the Youth Sailing School as well as serving as Commodore. Anyone who knew Dave, knows how passionate he was about many things, especially music, the Toronto Maple Leafs, and more recently, Cobourg Saxon’s Rugby. Playing in The Kawartha Kavaliers, The Cobourg Legion Pipes & Drums, and numerous bands around Cobourg, Dave combined all his talents when in 2014, he wrote the lyrics to the Saxon’s Old Boys Song. A Celebration of Life to be held at the Best Western Cobourg on Sunday December 16, 2018, from 1pm-5pm.
