C. Peter Clarey

Charles Peter Clarey, 64, of Castleton, ON, succumbed to brain cancer surrounded by his family in his home on August 13, 2018. He was a loving father, devoted husband, proud grandfather and loyal friend to all. Peter is survived by his loving wife Diane of 35 years, sons Tyler and his partner Jennie, Joseph and his wife Kassandra, Jayson and his wife Amy, his daughter Katelynn and her partner Drew, brothers Nick (Pam), Mark (Judy), David, Gill (Judy), Tom (Mandy), and his sisters Helen (Jim), June Ann Black, grandchildren Chet, Aiden, Brinley, and many lovely nieces, nephews and large extended family. Peter was a kind, hardworking, intelligent man and truly a jack of all trades. Pete was on the top of everyone’s speed dial; if you needed help with anything, he was the man to call. He enjoyed walking the dogs, reading, cooking “big daddy” breakfasts, playing euchre and in his younger days playing baseball. A special thank you goes to the staff at Saint Elizabeth for their attentive care, to Father David West for his many visits and support, and to the staff of MacCoubrey Funeral Home for all of the arrangements. Funeral services for Peter will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Grafton on Saturday, August 18, at 11:30 AM immediately followed by a Celebration of Life at St. Mary’s Elementary School adjacent to the church. Peter will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Grafton, ON.
