Passed away peacefully on Friday September 1st, 2017 in Scarborough Hospital in his 76th year. Son of Gérard Reny and Germaine Lepage, he leaves to mourn his spouse Vinh Nguyen, his sister Céline Reny-Chevalot (Ovid Avarmaa), his brothers the late François (late Monette Poitras) and Chrystian and his nieces Claude Chevalot (Jacques Blanchet), Simone Chevalot (Rémy Khouzam) and nephews, Fernand Chevalot (Julie Smith), Robert Caron (Lynda Frenette) and his grand-nieces Émilie and Betina. After his classical studies at Collège Saint-Jean Eudes Québec, André chose to teach in a small town school in Gaspésie. He taught French to Members of Parliament, Ministers and to students in Beijing as guest professor. He served as Clerk of the Senate of Canada from 1982 - 1996. Retired, he participated in the work of the Colborne Village History Society / care community where he lived in a recently classified heritage house. Friends will be received at MacCoubrey Funeral Home 11 King St. W., Colborne Ontario on Saturday September 9, 2017 from 12 to 4 p.m. The family wishes to express its sincere gratitude for the care provided by the staff at Scarborough Hospital. Fils de Gérard Reny et Germaine Lepage, il laisse dans le deuil son conjoint Vinh Nguyen, sa sœur Céline Reny-Chevalot (Ovid Avarmaa), ses frères feu François (feue Monette Poitras) et Chrystian ainsi que ses nièces Claude Chevalot (Jacques Blanchet), Simone Chevalot (Rémy Khouzam) et neveux, Fernand Chevalot (Julie Smith), Robert Caron (Lynda Frenette) ainsi que ses petites- nièces Émilie et Betina. Après des études classiques au collège Saint-Jean Eudes de Québec, André a choisi l’enseignement dans une école de rang en Gaspésie. Il a enseigné le français aux députés et ministres du Gouvernement fédéral et aux étudiants à Pékin comme professeur . De 1982 - 1996, il a occupé le poste de greffier au Sénat canadien.Retraité, il a participé aux travaux de la Société d’histoire du village / Care Community de Colborne où il a choisi d’habiter une maison récemment classée patrimoniale.
