H. Robert Daignault

D.D.S., U. of Toronto 1955 It is with deep sadness that the Daignault family announce the death of Bob Daignault, much loved husband of Marilyn (nee MacInnes), cherished father of Michelle, Jennifer, Jim and Valerie, much respected father-in-law of Andrew, Joel, Janet and Gordon, adored grandfather of Max, Sam, Katie, Billy, Leslie, Hugh, Harry, and Lauren, great grandfather to Marilyn Rose, and dear brother of Francis, Jack and Peter (deceased). Bob was a man who lived each day fully and with an enormous passion for the people around him. He was a dedicated dentist who cared deeply for his patients in Cobourg. He loved his family and, together with his beloved wife Marilyn, created a magical world for their children on their beautiful Hilltop Farm. Over the course of his life, he raised and cared for all creatures great and small, except squirrels for which he held a personal hatred. With his many projects, including the recent planting of a Carolinian forest at 85 years old, he was an inspiration for the value and joys of hard work. Not only did his children learn from him, but he was a great influence on the many young people he mentored over his life. From his early childhood, he loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed duck hunting with his dogs Igor and Brutus. He enjoyed cabinet making, helping his grandchildren build school projects, and painting beautiful watercolours of his family and the area around the cottage on the Northumberland Strait. He will be deeply missed. We wish to express our appreciation for the kindness shown to our entire family and the excellent care of Bob by the staff of the Northumberland Hills Hospital. Visitations at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St. East, Cobourg ON Thursday April 13, from 6-8pm, and Friday April 14, from 1-3pm. Funeral Saturday April 15, 2017 at 1pm.
