With great sadness the family of Anne Mary Kolisnyk (nee Buckley) announce her passing, on January 4, 2017, peacefully at Northumberland Hills Hospital, just before her 83rd birthday. Loving and supportive mother to Beth Kolisnyk (Mark) and Peter Kolisnyk, grandmother to Jakob Froncz and Alex Kolisnyk, wife to the late Peter Kolisnyk Sr., sister to the late Thomas Philip Buckley, and daughter to the late Marion Louise Buckley (nee Tibbets) and the late Thomas Philip Buckley Sr. Beloved Auntie Anne to Wendie James (Brian), Tab Buckley (Gaynor), Sean Buckley (Jennifer), and Robert Buckley (Cindy). Anne began her career as a fashion illustrator in Toronto in the 1950s before moving to Cobourg to raise a family. In the years following, Anne taught art at Cobourg District Collegiate Institute East, became Director/Curator of the Glendon Art Gallery, York University, and Director/Curator of the Art Gallery of Northumberland. She finished her career as the Executive Director of The Ontario Association of Art Galleries (OAAG). Anne was always astute and insightful, and her passion for the arts and illustration was infectious to all those around her. She loved spending time with family, especially doing arts and crafts with the children. An avid walker and hiker, she loved her times outdoors and at cottages in the summer. A celebration of life gathering will be held from 12 noon – 3:30 pm on Saturday May 13th, 2017 in the MacCoubrey Funeral Home Reception Centre, 30 King Street East, Cobourg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ovarian Cancer Canada and condolences will be received at www.maccoubrey.com.
