We are sad to announce the passing of Dennis Lane at Streamway Villa Nursing Home in Cobourg on Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at the age of 76. He was surrounded with love by his wife Marlene, son Shawn, brother Robert and his wife Mia, as he left this life to join his parents Ches and Sarah Lane and son Derrick. Dennis leaves behind his wife and best friend Marlene, his sons Robert Lane (Carol), Shawn Lane (Jodi), grandchildren Jason (Daniela), Kyleigh (Josh), Brendan, Michael, Jessica, Sarah, James, Courtney, Jenna and six great grandchildren. He will be remembered by his sisters Judy MacGillivray (Joe), Marni Pedersen (Bill) and brother Robert Lane (Mia). Dennis was predeceased by his son Derrick Lane. Dennis was proud of his service in the Royal Canadian Navy. When he retired he moved with his family to Cobourg. He worked as a service manager at Baker Tire (Goodyear) and Canadian Tire Service Centre and then as a night audit manager at the Comfort Inn. Dennis always loved his family, his dog, and his time at the family cottage. Over these past few years Dennis was struck with a degenerative brain disorder, the staff at Streamway Villa have been a wonderful help to all of the family and we thank them for their love and support over this time. A Memorial Service will be held at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St. E. in Cobourg on Monday, December 19th at 2 pm with visiting for one hour prior to the service, from 1 to 2pm. Members of the RCL Branch 133 will gather at the funeral home on Monday for a walk through immediately prior to the service. Interment to follow at Cobourg Union Cemetery.
