Glenn W. Irwin

Passed away peacefully on Saturday July 9, 2016 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Doreen (nee Nicholas) for 67 years. Loving father of Dennis (Dawn Marie), Lynne (Bob Hounsome), Mike (Jill), Terry (Vicki) and Tim (Catherine). Much loved grandfather of Rebecca (Matt), Emily, Meghan, Justin (Stephanie), Melanie (Sean), Sophie, Chanel, Cody, Laiken (Craig), Catlin (Samantha), Dakota, Desiree, Tess (Tyson), Elyse, Brython, and Seaton. Great-grandfather of Grace, Noa, Tavish, Maximus, Alyssa and Mae. Brother of the late Garland Irwin (Jean), uncle of Juna (the late Joel McArthur), Paul, and great-uncle of Joeline, Jill and John. Glenn will be greatly missed by the Nicholas family in Campbellford, Ontario, where Glenn was born and raised. Glenn retired after 40 years with Ontario Hydro, with many fond memories and wonderful relationships with both co-workers and their families. Our family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the staff at Extendicare, Cobourg and Golden Plough Lodge for their compassionate care of Glenn during the last two and a half years.  Friends are invited to call at MacCoubrey Funeral Home (30 King St. E., Cobourg) on Friday July 22 from 10:00 to 11:30 am. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #133, Cobourg, on Friday July 22 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Private cremation and interment. Interment service to be conducted by Reverend Douglas Currie.  Memorial donations may be made to the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation or the charity of your choice.
